Renault is also offering its Protect 360 ownership package, starting at ₹89,900. The package includes three years of comprehensive insurance, scheduled maintenance for three years and an assured resale value after the same period.

Renault Duster Hybrid: Engine, Performance and Mileage

The new Duster uses Renault’s E-Tech 160 hybrid powertrain, combining a 1.8-litre, four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with two electric motors. The petrol engine produces 110hp and 175Nm of torque, while the 50hp traction motor generates 208Nm. The combined system output is rated at 160hp.

Power is supplied through a multi-mode automatic gearbox featuring four petrol gears and two electric gears. The system can automatically switch between six driving configurations, including electric-only, petrol-only and hybrid operation.

The SUV gets a 1.4kWh, 247V battery pack. Renault claims that the Duster hybrid can cover up to 80% of city driving using electric power alone.

According to the company, the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100kph in 9.61 seconds. Its ARAI-certified fuel efficiency is rated at 29kmpl. With a 50-litre fuel tank, Renault claims a driving range of more than 1,400km on a full tank.

Renault Duster Hybrid: Exterior Design and Dimensions

The hybrid model retains the rugged appearance of the petrol-powered Duster. Its exterior features include prominent body cladding, roof rails, rear door handles mounted on the C-pillars and eyebrow-shaped LED daytime running lights.

The SUV also gets an illuminated Duster badge on the front grille. Full-LED headlights are available from the Techno variant onwards, while E-Tech Hybrid badges on the front doors and tailgate distinguish the hybrid model.

The Evolution variant comes with 18-inch flex wheels, while the top-spec Emotion gets 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The SUV also offers 212mm of ground clearance, supporting its rugged design.

Interior Features and Technology Across Variants

Inside, the Duster hybrid retains the dual-screen dashboard layout of the petrol model. The entry-level Evolution comes equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and dual-zone automatic climate control.

The mid-spec Techno adds a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, push-button start and connected-car features through the MyRenault app. It also features Desert Beige semi-leatherette upholstery.

The range-topping Emotion receives a larger 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, six-way electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, a powered tailgate and Dune Brown leatherette upholstery.

The three variants offer different levels of equipment, allowing buyers to choose according to their feature requirements and budget.

Safety Features and Platform

Renault says the entry-level Evolution variant comes with 38 safety features as standard. These include six airbags, hill-start assist, cruise control with a speed limiter, rear parking sensors and a reversing camera.

The Duster hybrid is built on Renault’s RGMP platform, which supports petrol, hybrid and CNG powertrains. It also features frequency-dependent dampers designed to improve ride comfort over varying road surfaces.

With its strong-hybrid powertrain, claimed 29kmpl fuel efficiency and three available trims, the new Duster adds a hybrid option to Renault’s SUV lineup in India.
