Jio Platforms, the digital and telecommunications business backed by Reliance Industries, is preparing to launch its initial public offering (IPO) from October 21 to October 23, 2026. The offering has drawn considerable attention from domestic and international investors ahead of its opening.

According to reports, aggregate investor demand has reached approximately ₹2.5 lakh crore, around eight times the issue size of ₹30,213 crore. The proposed listing marks a major milestone for the Mukesh Ambani-led group as it looks to bring Jio Platforms to the public markets.

The IPO will offer 27 crore new equity shares in a price band of ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share. At the upper end of the range, the issue is valued at ₹30,213 crore, making it the largest IPO in India’s market history, according to the details provided.

LIC, SBI Mutual Fund and Global Investors Show Interest

The upcoming Jio Platforms IPO has reportedly attracted interest from some of India’s largest financial institutions. Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), SBI Mutual Fund and HDFC Mutual Fund are among the domestic institutions seeking an allocation.

Several international investment organisations have also reportedly expressed interest in the offering. These include Capital Group, BlackRock, Fidelity Investments, Norges Bank Investment Management, Qatar Investment Authority and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.

The reported demand highlights the attention the IPO is receiving from institutional investors in India and overseas. However, the final allocation will depend on the outcome of the offering process.

Uday Kotak Says Jio IPO Valuation Is Competitive

Veteran banker Uday Kotak has commented on the valuation at which Jio Platforms shares are being offered. According to Kotak, the proposed valuation is lower than that of the company’s closest rival, making the pricing relatively attractive to investors.

He said Jio Platforms is valued at 34 times its consolidated earnings for FY26, compared with 41 times for its closest competitor.

Kotak, founder-director of Kotak Mahindra Bank, said the relative valuation makes the offering attractive when compared with its rival. Actual investment returns, however, will depend on the company’s performance and market conditions after listing.

Isha Ambani Highlights Shareholder Value

Reliance Industries director Isha Ambani has emphasised the importance of creating value for shareholders through the offering.

She said the focus on shareholder value is part of Reliance’s long-standing philosophy, which has been passed down through generations of the family.

The IPO represents a significant development for Reliance Industries, as it is the first public offering from the Mukesh Ambani-led group described in the report. Jio Platforms’ entry into the stock market will give investors an opportunity to participate in the company’s equity through the public issue.
