Gold Price Today: Gold and silver prices are once again showing weakness in the domestic futures market, giving buyers some relief after recent fluctuations. Investors and jewellery buyers have been closely tracking precious-metal prices as gold continues to move sharply from one session to another.

For those planning to purchase gold jewellery, the latest decline may come as positive news. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also previously advised people to purchase gold jewellery only when it is genuinely necessary.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the futures price of 24-carat gold had declined by 0.09%, or ₹141, to ₹1,52,200 per 10 grams before the market opened. In the international market, gold was trading at around $4,359.70 per ounce.

Here is a look at the latest MCX gold and silver prices along with city-wise gold rates.

Gold Price Today on MCX

Gold prices remained under pressure during the morning trading session on September 11, 2026.

At 9:16 AM, the MCX futures price for 24-carat gold for October 5, 2026 delivery was trading at ₹1,50,925 per 10 grams, reflecting a decline of 0.93%.

The previous market close stood at ₹1,52,341 per 10 grams. Overall, gold had fallen by approximately ₹1,416 from the previous level.

The decline could offer some relief to consumers who have been waiting for a dip in gold prices before making a jewellery purchase. However, local jewellery prices can differ from MCX prices because of taxes, making charges, purity and other costs.

Silver Price Today on MCX

Silver has also witnessed a sharp correction in the futures market.

Before the opening of trading, the MCX futures price of silver had dropped 4.24%, or ₹10,363, to ₹2,33,850 per kilogram.

At 9:16 AM on September 11, 2026, silver futures for December 4, 2026 delivery were trading at ₹2,30,856 per kilogram, down 1.39%.

This means silver had become cheaper by around ₹2,994 per kilogram compared with the previous level.

Gold and Silver Prices Fall: What Should Buyers Know?

The latest drop in gold and silver prices may attract buyers, but consumers should remember that MCX futures prices are not the same as the final price paid at a jewellery shop.

The retail price of jewellery can include factors such as gold purity, making charges, GST and other applicable costs. Therefore, buyers should check the final bill and compare rates before purchasing.

Gold and silver prices can also change several times during a trading session, meaning the rates listed above may change later in the day.

Gold Price Outlook for Buyers

The recent decline in precious-metal prices may provide a temporary buying opportunity for those who were already planning a purchase. However, investors should avoid making decisions based solely on a single day’s price movement.

Gold prices are influenced by several domestic and global factors, including international bullion prices, currency movements, interest rates, geopolitical developments and market sentiment.

For jewellery buyers, checking the latest local rate, purity, making charges and final purchase price is important before completing a transaction.
