Chhoti Diwali will be observed on November 7. For passengers who have been unable to secure confirmed train tickets, there is some relief as Bhopal Railways has introduced 20 special trains to manage the festive rush.
A large number of people working or studying away from their hometowns are making travel arrangements for the festival. This has significantly increased passenger numbers at railway stations and bus terminals. To accommodate the additional demand, the railway administration has introduced special train services and strengthened security arrangements.
Bhopal Railways Introduces 20 Special Trains for Diwali
Bhopal Railway Station is receiving more than 1 lakh passengers every day as people travel to different destinations for Diwali celebrations.
Managing such a large number of travellers has become a major responsibility for railway officials. To reduce passenger inconvenience and maintain order, the railway administration has introduced 20 special trains.
Along with additional train services, special arrangements have also been made to monitor passenger movement and maintain security across the station premises.
30 Security Personnel Deployed, 18 Cameras Monitoring Station
Keeping passenger safety in mind, the railway administration has deployed 30 security personnel at Bhopal Railway Station.
Surveillance has also been strengthened with the installation of 18 cameras across the station. These include 13 AI-enabled cameras and five facial recognition cameras.
The surveillance system is being used to monitor passenger movement and crowd density at different locations within the station. These measures are intended to help security teams identify crowded areas and respond more effectively during peak travel hours.
How Are Railway Officials Managing the Diwali Rush?
To ensure that passengers can move around the station without unnecessary difficulties, railway authorities have divided the station premises into separate zones.
Teams from the commercial department are working alongside Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel to regulate passenger movement and manage crowds.
The combined efforts of railway staff and security personnel are aimed at maintaining order, improving passenger convenience and ensuring safety during the busy Diwali travel period.
With 20 additional special trains, increased security deployment and enhanced CCTV monitoring, Bhopal Railways is working to manage the festive rush and provide a smoother travel experience for passengers returning home for Diwali.
