Gold Price Today: Gold and silver prices continue to move up and down in both domestic and international markets. If you are planning to purchase gold jewellery, checking the latest city-wise rates is important before making a purchase.
The bullion market is closed on October 2 due to Gandhi Jayanti, while trading on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) is also shut. As a result, domestic prices are being assessed using rates from the previous trading session. However, international markets remain active, where both gold and silver have recorded gains.
Before the market holiday, gold prices in Delhi increased to ₹1,49,800 per 10 grams, inclusive of all taxes. On the MCX, the futures price of 24-carat gold declined 0.09% to ₹1,50,250 per 10 grams.
Gold and Silver Prices in the International Market
Gold and silver both recorded gains in the international market on Friday. According to Comex data, at around 9:40 AM, gold was up 0.03% at $4,203.30 per ounce.
Silver also moved higher, gaining 0.26% to trade at $61.335 per ounce.
Global price movements, currency fluctuations and developments in international markets continue to influence domestic bullion prices.
Gold Prices Rise for Second Consecutive Day
Gold prices in the domestic bullion market increased for the second straight trading session.
On Thursday, gold rose by ₹500 to reach ₹1,49,800 per 10 grams. In the previous session, 24-carat gold had closed at ₹1,49,300 per 10 grams.
According to experts, the weaker rupee and a positive trend in the global market were the main factors supporting the rise in gold prices.
Silver, however, moved in the opposite direction. Traders said silver prices declined by ₹5,000 to ₹2.26 lakh per kilogram. On Wednesday, silver was trading at around ₹2.25 lakh per kilogram.
