November 2026 is an important month for taxpayers, businesses and professionals responsible for handling income tax compliance. Several key deadlines fall during the month, covering the payment of Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) and Tax Collected at Source (TCS), the issue of TDS and TCS certificates, and the filing of income tax returns by taxpayers whose accounts are subject to an audit.

Business owners and companies should keep track of these dates to avoid missing statutory requirements. Delays in depositing taxes or submitting the necessary forms may lead to penalties. Here are the important income tax deadlines to remember in November 2026.

November 7: Deadline to Deposit TDS and TCS

The first important deadline is November 7, 2026. Entities and businesses that deducted TDS or collected TCS on transactions during October must deposit the applicable amounts into the Central Government’s account by this date.

This requirement applies to all taxpayers responsible for deducting TDS or collecting TCS. In certain cases, buyers may also need to submit Form 127 on behalf of sellers. The form serves as a declaration for non-deduction of TDS, provided the specified conditions are met.

November 14: Issue of TDS Certificates

November 14 is the deadline for issuing certain TDS certificates relating to tax deducted during September 2026.

The certificates are issued through Form 132 and cover specified transactions, including rent payments, the purchase or sale of immovable property, technical service payments and the transfer of Virtual Digital Assets (VDAs), among others.

Anyone responsible for deducting TDS in these cases must provide the relevant certificate to the concerned person within the prescribed time.

November 15: Important TDS and TCS Form Deadlines

Three tax compliance requirements are due on November 15, 2026.

Form 131 must be used to issue the applicable TDS certificate. This requirement excludes quarterly salary, pension and interest income earned by senior citizens.

The deadline also applies to the issuance of TCS certificates through Form 133. This certificate provides details to help identify the taxpayer and shows the amount of tax collected.

Government offices must also use Form 137 to report the status of TDS and TCS deposits for the previous month, even when a formal challan is not available.

November 21: ITR Filing Deadline for Taxpayers Requiring an Audit

Taxpayers whose accounts are required to undergo an audit under the Income Tax rules must file their income tax returns for Assessment Year 2026–27 by November 21, 2026.

The deadline was earlier scheduled for October 31 but has now been extended to November 21. Taxpayers covered by the audit requirement should complete their return filing within the revised time limit to avoid possible penalties for late submission.
