Samsung is reportedly preparing to introduce the Samsung W27, a China-exclusive book-style foldable smartphone, next week. The device is expected to debut at the company’s upcoming ‘Heart of the World’ event and is said to be based on the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. However, the W27 could feature a more premium design tailored to the Chinese market.
A leaked image of the purported Samsung W27 has now surfaced online, offering a glimpse of its expected colour scheme and rear-panel design. The smartphone appears to feature a Royal Blue finish paired with gold accents and a distinctive insignia on the back.
Samsung W27 Design and Colour Options
In a shared image of the purported Samsung W27 in a post on X. The leaked image shows the foldable phone with a flat Royal Blue rear panel, giving it a different appearance from the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
The rear camera module has a vertical, pill-shaped design with a gold finish. A separate insignia near the bottom of the rear panel also appears in gold, matching the camera module. The phone is expected to retain a flat metal frame similar to that of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, although the frame itself appears to have a gold-coloured finish.
The power button and volume controls are also expected to be positioned along the right edge, following a layout similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. A leaked promotional poster has additionally hinted at another colour option featuring a red shade.
Samsung W27 Launch Date and Expected Availability
Samsung will host its ‘Heart of the World’ event, translated from Chinese, on October 29. The company is expected to unveil the Samsung W27 during the event.
Samsung’s W-series foldable smartphones are generally positioned as more premium alternatives to the company’s Galaxy Z Fold models in China. While these devices are known for their distinctive finishes and build quality, their technical specifications and features largely remain similar to those of their Galaxy Z Fold counterparts.
The Samsung W27 is reportedly scheduled to go on sale in China on November 5. Its price is expected to be higher than that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
Samsung W27 Expected Specifications and Features
The Samsung W27 is tipped to be powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset. The processor could be paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.
For photography, the foldable smartphone is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup. It could also include two 10-megapixel cameras, with one positioned on the cover display and the other on the foldable inner screen.
Samsung has not yet officially confirmed the W27’s complete specifications and features. More details are expected to emerge around the reported October 29 launch event.
