Samsung is reportedly preparing to introduce its Galaxy S27 series early next year, which is expected to include the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra. Ahead of the anticipated launch, a newly surfaced dummy unit has provided an early glimpse of the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s possible design.

The leak highlights changes to the rear camera arrangement and reveals the handset’s expected dimensions. The redesigned camera layout could also create additional space for magnetic accessories, potentially improving support for MagSafe-style attachments.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra Design and Camera Bar

A dummy model of the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra has been created using previously leaked CAD renders. The publication has also compared the dummy unit with the iPhone 18 Pro, Google Pixel 11 Pro and Galaxy S26 Ultra to highlight potential design differences.

One of the most noticeable changes is the redesigned rear camera bar. The camera module appears to sit higher on the back panel, leaving more room for magnetic accessories.

The current Galaxy S26 Ultra supports Qi2-compatible accessories through specially designed cases. However, the revised arrangement on the Galaxy S27 Ultra could make it easier to attach such accessories. It is still unclear whether Samsung will include built-in Qi2 magnets or continue using compatible cases and accessories.

The report also suggests that the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s updated camera arrangement bears similarities to the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro.

S Pen Slot and Expected Dimensions

Despite the design changes, Samsung is reportedly retaining the dedicated S Pen slot along the bottom edge of the Galaxy S27 Ultra.

The leaked dummy unit suggests that the smartphone could measure 163.76 x 78.25 x 7.97mm. In comparison, the Galaxy S26 Ultra reportedly measures 163.6 x 78.1 x 7.9mm. This indicates that the upcoming model may be slightly taller, wider and thicker than its predecessor.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra Expected Specifications

Apart from the exterior changes, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is also tipped to receive an updated camera system. The smartphone could feature a 200-megapixel primary rear camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.

Other expected specifications include a 6.89-inch display and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme chipset.

Samsung has not officially confirmed these details. More information about the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s design, hardware and features is expected to emerge ahead of its anticipated launch.
