Redmi 17C 5G Launched in India With 6,000mAh Battery and 33W Charging

Redmi has launched the Redmi 17C 5G in India, adding another smartphone to its budget-focused 17 series. The new handset comes with a 6.9-inch HD+ display, a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor and a 6,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.

The smartphone runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and supports 5G connectivity. It is available in three colour options, while the India pricing starts at ₹20,999.

Redmi 17C 5G Price and Availability

The Redmi 17C 5G is priced at ₹20,999 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The higher 6GB RAM with 128GB storage model costs ₹22,999.

The phone will be available for purchase in India from October 7 through Amazon and Xiaomi’s online store. Buyers can choose between Coffee Brew, Dark Night and Purple Dawn colour options.

Redmi 17C 5G Specifications and Display

The Redmi 17C 5G features a 6.9-inch HD+ LCD display with a 720×1,600-pixel resolution and up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen also supports up to 810 nits of brightness and a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz.

Powering the smartphone is the octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, with a maximum clock speed of 2.4GHz. It uses a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU and comes with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Storage can be expanded by up to 1TB using a microSD card, while virtual RAM expansion is supported by up to 6GB.

The handset also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.

Camera and Battery Details

For photography, the Redmi 17C 5G has a 50-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calls.

The camera system includes features such as HDR, Portrait, Night, Time-lapse and Soft-light Ring modes. The rear camera can record video at up to 1080p at 30 frames per second.

The phone packs a 6,000mAh battery and supports 33W wired fast charging. Xiaomi also includes a 33W charger in the box. Other connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and a USB Type-C port. Navigation support includes GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou.

The Redmi 17C 5G measures 171.56 × 79.47 × 7.99mm and weighs around 211 grams. It also includes an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, electronic compass and virtual proximity sensor.
