Redmi 17C 5G Launch Date: Redmi is preparing to expand its budget 5G smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Redmi 17C 5G on October 1, 2026. The handset has already debuted in global markets, including Singapore, and the Indian version is expected to retain the same design and specifications.
The smartphone comes with a large 6.9-inch display, a 120Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor and a 6,000mAh battery. Redmi has not yet announced the official India price.
Redmi 17C 5G India Price and Design
The Redmi 17C 5G will officially arrive in India on October 1, although its Indian pricing remains undisclosed. In Singapore, the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage version is priced at SGD 279, which is roughly ₹21,000.
The Indian model will follow the global design, featuring a flat rear panel with gently curved sides. A raised rectangular camera island sits in the upper-left corner and houses the 50MP main camera along with an LED flash. A separate circular element is placed below the camera module.
The phone will be available in Dark Night, Coffee Brew and Purple Dawn colour options. Coffee Brew has a leather-like textured rear, while the other two variants feature a smoother finish.

The Redmi 17C 5G features a 6.9-inch HD+ LCD panel with a 1600×720-pixel resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The display can reach 810 nits of brightness and offers a 240Hz touch sampling rate.
Other display features include DC dimming, Reading Mode and TUV Rheinland Eye-Comfort certifications. Redmi has also included Wet Touch Technology 2.0, designed to allow touch controls to function when the user’s fingers are wet, oily or soapy.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and comes with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
The device runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, making it a software upgrade over the Redmi 15C, which runs HyperOS 2 based on Android 15.
50MP Camera and 6000mAh Battery
For photography, the Redmi 17C 5G has a 50MP f/1.8 primary rear camera, while an 8MP front camera is provided for selfies and video calls. Both cameras support 1080p and 720p video recording at 30 frames per second.
The smartphone packs a 6,000mAh battery and supports 33W charging. Xiaomi claims that the battery can maintain at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,000 complete charging cycles.
The Redmi 17C 5G also carries an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes. Connectivity and additional features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4 and a USB Type-C port. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor is available for biometric unlocking.
