Hyderabad Tops Petrol Prices, Thiruvananthapuram Costliest for Diesel
Among the major cities, Hyderabad continues to have the highest petrol price at ₹115.69 per litre, closely followed by Thiruvananthapuram at ₹115.49 per litre.
At the other end of the spectrum, Chandigarh remains the cheapest city for petrol, with rates at ₹98.10 per litre. Fuel prices in New Delhi and Lucknow also remain relatively lower at ₹102.12 and ₹102.05 per litre, respectively.
For diesel, Thiruvananthapuram records the highest price at ₹104.40 per litre, while Hyderabad follows at ₹103.82 per litre. Chandigarh continues to offer the lowest diesel price among the listed cities at ₹86.09 per litre.
Recent Fuel Price Developments
Fuel prices had witnessed a significant increase in recent weeks after oil marketing companies raised petrol and diesel prices by nearly ₹7.50 per litre, citing higher global crude oil prices amid geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
In its latest fortnightly review, the government also revised export duties:
- Export duty on diesel increased from ₹13.50 to ₹14 per litre.
- Export duty on aviation turbine fuel (ATF) was raised from ₹9.50 to ₹12.50 per litre.
- Export duty on petrol remains unchanged at ₹1.50 per litre.
LPG and CNG Price Updates
Domestic LPG prices were increased by ₹29 from June 7, 2026, taking the price of a standard 14.2-kg LPG cylinder in Delhi to ₹942, up from ₹913.
Commercial LPG cylinders also became costlier earlier this month, with the price of a 19-kg cylinder in Delhi rising by ₹42 to ₹3,113.50.
Meanwhile, Mumbai’s CNG price was recently increased by ₹2 per kg, taking the retail rate to ₹86 per kg. Domestic PNG prices also rose by 50 paise, reaching ₹52 per standard cubic metre (SCM).
