New Delhi: Rainfall activity across Maharashtra is expected to weaken as the impact of the low-pressure area decreases. Several parts of the state have received heavy rain over the past few days, but the Meteorological Department expects mostly light rainfall on September 27.
Light showers with thunderstorms and lightning may occur at isolated locations in Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. Weather conditions could become more active during the afternoon, with some areas likely to receive thundershowers.
Rainfall activity in Vidarbha is also expected to decline further. Some parts of the region recorded rain in recent days, but the weakening influence of the low-pressure system is likely to bring a gradual reduction in rainfall.
Maharashtra Weather Forecast for Different Regions
In Konkan, districts including Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg have experienced rainfall in recent days. Light showers may continue in some locations, but the possibility of heavy rain remains low. Similar weather conditions are expected over the next few days.
North Maharashtra is likely to remain largely dry and humid. Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon and Nashik may see mostly dry conditions, although light to moderate rain could occur in some Ghat areas.
Parts of Madhya Maharashtra, including Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur and Solapur, may also receive showers. Thunderstorms are possible at isolated locations, but no major rainfall alert has been issued for these districts for September 27.
Marathwada is expected to remain mostly dry in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli and Nanded. Latur and Dharashiv could receive light to moderate rainfall at some places. The ongoing lack of adequate rainfall continues to affect agricultural activities in parts of the region.
Several areas of Vidarbha have also recorded rainfall. While some locations may experience cloudy skies, others could continue to face hot and humid conditions. Widespread and substantial rainfall is still awaited across the state.
Char Dham Yatra Suspended Amid Rain in Uttarakhand
The Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand was suspended again on Saturday due to adverse weather conditions. The pilgrimage had already been halted multiple times this year because of heavy rainfall and other weather-related concerns.
The suspension came after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued red and orange rainfall alerts for several parts of Uttarakhand. Schools were also closed in five districts amid the weather warning.
Heavy rain was reported across much of the state from the morning, while some high-altitude areas experienced intermittent snowfall. Officials said there were no reports of casualties or major damage so far.
Himachal Pradesh Receives First Snowfall in Kinnaur
Weather conditions also remained unsettled in Himachal Pradesh, where Kinnaur recorded the season’s first snowfall.
The Kuno Charang area under Pooh tehsil received snowfall during the day, while other parts of Kinnaur experienced rainfall. Shimla, Dharamshala and several other areas of the state also received light rain.
