Wamiqa Gabbi recently reflected on her memorable appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18, where she took the hot seat in front of Amitabh Bachchan. For the actress, the experience brought back memories of watching the popular quiz show with her family during her childhood.
The Bhool Chuk Maaf actress said the moment felt surreal, particularly because her family was present in the audience. Sharing a video from the episode on Instagram, Wamiqa recalled how she once watched KBC from her home and never imagined that she would eventually become part of the show herself.
She wrote that sitting on the iconic chair made her realise how far she had come. Seeing Amitabh Bachchan sitting in front of her while her family watched from the audience made the connection between her childhood memories and her present life feel especially significant.
Wamiqa Gabbi Says The Moment Was Special For Her Family
Wamiqa also reflected on how achievements can become shared experiences for an entire family. She said that fellow middle-class families would understand why the occasion felt so meaningful.
According to the actress, although she was the only one sitting on the hot seat, it felt as if her entire family was sharing the experience with her. She described the journey from watching the programme together at home to actually being on KBC as something that felt like an entire lifetime.
Wamiqa Recalls Her Father’s Words About Her Career
During the episode, Wamiqa appeared alongside Rajkummar Rao and Ujjwal Nikam. At one point, Amitabh Bachchan offered her a glass of water.
While speaking with the veteran actor, Wamiqa recalled her years of work in the industry and shared a memory involving her father. She said that when she worked with Jaya Bachchan, her father told her, “Now you’re working.”
Wamiqa then jokingly recalled telling him that she was getting closer to Amitabh Bachchan’s house, describing the moment as part of her journey towards becoming an actor.

Amitabh Bachchan also addressed Wamiqa’s parents during the interaction and reassured them about their daughter’s work. He said, “Sir, you don’t worry. She’s a very good artist. We’ve got all her reports.”
The upcoming episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18 will feature Rajkummar Rao, Wamiqa Gabbi and Ujjwal Nikam alongside Amitabh Bachchan. The trio will appear on the show to promote their film Prahaar.
