New Delhi: Honda is preparing to enter India’s all-electric passenger vehicle market with the production version of its upcoming 0 Alpha electric SUV. The model is scheduled to make its global debut on December 2, 2026, following the unveiling of its concept in October 2025.

The production model is expected to retain much of the concept’s distinctive styling. According to reports, Honda will reveal the SUV’s official name in November, ahead of its unveiling. A heavily camouflaged test vehicle has also recently been spotted on Indian roads.

Honda 0 Alpha Battery Options and Expected Range

Honda has confirmed plans to offer the 0 Alpha with two battery pack options. Both are expected to use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology, with capacities reportedly ranging from 65kWh to 75kWh.

The electric SUV is likely to launch with a single electric motor powering the front wheels. However, Honda has yet to disclose its power output, torque, driving range or charging capabilities.

Further details about the battery specifications and overall performance are expected to emerge at the official unveiling in December.

Distinctive Design Inspired by the Concept

Recent spy images indicate that the production-ready Honda 0 Alpha will preserve the concept’s unconventional appearance. Its boxy body, nearly vertical rear section and thick C-pillar give it a silhouette that differs from Honda’s existing SUVs and resembles an MPV in certain proportions.

At the rear, the vehicle features a large windscreen and a prominent bumper, which is expected to incorporate diffuser-inspired styling. The front section is likely to feature an illuminated Honda badge, with the charging port integrated into the nose.

Honda has previously indicated that the concept was already close to production form, suggesting that only limited styling changes may be made to the final vehicle.

Launch Timeline, Expected Features and Market Position

The production-spec Honda 0 Alpha will be unveiled on December 2, 2026, while its official name is reportedly expected to be announced in November.

The upcoming SUV will mark Honda’s entry into India’s fully electric passenger vehicle segment. Although the company has confirmed its plans for the model, details regarding pricing, available variants and the precise date of its market launch remain undisclosed.

With its distinctive design and two anticipated battery options, the Honda 0 Alpha is set to become an important addition to the company’s Indian lineup as it expands into electric mobility.
