September 19 became a memorable day for several students in Madhya Pradesh as Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav interacted with meritorious students during a scooter distribution programme in Bhopal. Students spoke about their career ambitions and future plans, while the Chief Minister encouraged them to continue their education and work towards their goals.
The programme was held at Subhash Excellence School in Bhopal under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. During the event, Dr. Yadav handed over scooter keys to 11 students on stage. More than 7,400 meritorious Class 12 students across Madhya Pradesh also received scooters under the scheme. The state government’s official scheme information confirms that eligible students who top their respective government higher-secondary schools in Class 12 can receive a free e-scooter or equivalent benefit.
Students Share Their Career Goals
Khushi Rai was the first student to receive a scooter key from the Chief Minister. Speaking about the benefit, she said the scooter would make it easier for her to continue her studies and manage responsibilities at home.
The interaction also included some light-hearted moments. Since Khushi is her parents’ only child, Dr. Yadav jokingly asked whether she would let her friends use the scooter, drawing laughter from the gathering.
Student Shabd, who received the second key, told the Chief Minister about his ambition to become a Chartered Accountant. He said the scooter would be useful in pursuing his studies.
Akash Sahu, who received the third key, shared plans to continue his education while starting an agriculture-based business. He said his aim is to develop a startup focused on supplying fresh food and vegetables.
Other students also spoke about their ambitions. Ravi Kewat and Maryam Khan said they wanted to become Chartered Accountants. Devesh Gupta spoke about the facilities available at Sandipani schools. Mini Jain said she wants to become a neurosurgeon after qualifying for NEET, while Rani Sample expressed her intention to pursue higher education and become a lawyer.
Government Focuses on Students’ Higher Education
Addressing the programme, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said the state government is committed to supporting students and creating opportunities for their future.
Under the Chief Minister Scooty Scheme, scooters worth up to ₹1 lakh are being provided to meritorious students from government schools. The objective is to make it easier for students to travel between their homes and colleges as they continue their higher education.
The official Madhya Pradesh government scheme portal lists the free e-scooter/ICES programme under the School Education Department. It states that the scheme is meant for students who secure the top position in their respective government higher-secondary school in the Class 12 board examination.
Scooty to Help Students Continue Their Studies
The scooter is intended to provide students with a convenient means of transportation as they move from school to college and pursue further studies.
During his address, Dr. Yadav also spoke about the importance of supporting children when they achieve success through their own efforts. He said that when students bring home a scooter based on their academic performance, it becomes a moment of pride for their parents, villages and communities.
The scheme is part of the state government’s broader focus on education and youth development. Madhya Pradesh’s official youth portal also highlights education, higher studies, employment, skill development and self-employment among the areas covered by government initiatives for young people.
