CGH Earth Expansion: Hospitality brand CGH Earth has unveiled an ambitious growth strategy, planning to invest ₹100 crore to expand its presence across India. The company aims to double its room inventory to 1,000 keys and achieve ₹1,000 crore in annual revenue by FY2030, driven by an asset-light expansion model and a focus on experiential tourism.
CGH Earth Targets Major Growth by FY30
Kochi-headquartered CGH Earth, known for its sustainable and experience-driven hospitality offerings, currently operates 32 properties, primarily across South India.
Speaking about the company’s future roadmap, Managing Director Michael Dominic said CGH Earth generated close to ₹300 crore in revenue during FY26 and currently has around 500 operational rooms. Over the next few years, the company plans to add another 500 keys, taking its total inventory to 1,000 rooms while significantly boosting revenue.
The hospitality group expects this expansion to help it reach its long-term revenue target of ₹1,000 crore by the financial year 2029-30.
₹100 Crore Investment Through Asset-Light Strategy
To support its nationwide expansion, CGH Earth has earmarked approximately ₹100 crore in capital expenditure.
Instead of heavily investing in owning new properties, the company plans to follow an asset-light business model, expanding mainly through management contracts and lease agreements. The investment will be funded through a combination of internal accruals and debt, allowing the company to scale operations while maintaining financial flexibility.
Expansion Plans Across India
While CGH Earth already has properties in West Bengal and the Andaman Islands, the company is now actively exploring opportunities in several new destinations across the country.
A new resort in Gir, Gujarat, is currently under construction and is expected to open in 2027. The hospitality chain is also entering Madhya Pradesh and is in discussions for potential projects in Rajasthan.
According to the company, future developments will focus on destinations known for their heritage, wildlife, natural beauty, and cultural significance, including hill stations and leisure travel hotspots.
Focus on Sustainable and Experiential Tourism
CGH Earth has built its reputation around environmentally responsible tourism and authentic travel experiences. Its portfolio operates under three distinct hospitality brands:
- CGH Earth Experience Hotels – Premium leisure properties offering immersive local experiences.
- CGH Earth Wellness Hotels – Resorts focused on wellness, holistic healing, and rejuvenation.
- CGH Earth Saha – Boutique properties with fewer than 10 rooms designed for intimate and personalised stays.
The company plans to continue expanding primarily in the leisure and holiday travel segment, catering to travellers seeking unique, nature-inspired experiences.
Asset-Light Model to Drive Faster Growth
As part of its long-term strategy, CGH Earth intends to increase the proportion of hotels managed through leases and management agreements, rather than outright ownership.
The company believes this approach will enable quicker expansion across India while reducing capital-intensive investments. By leveraging partnerships with property owners, CGH Earth aims to strengthen its national presence without compromising its focus on sustainability and high-quality guest experiences.
With rising demand for experiential travel and eco-conscious hospitality, the company sees significant opportunities to grow beyond its traditional southern India base and establish itself as a leading player in India’s premium leisure tourism market.
