Earbuds have become an everyday companion for many users, whether during a commute, workout, work call or short break. Beyond playing music, they are increasingly being used for calls, podcasts, quick replies and other tasks while people are away from their phones or computers.
boAt is now taking that experience a step further by bringing artificial intelligence directly into its latest audio devices. On September 22, 2026, boAt introduced its first smart audio products powered by boAt Crest AI, an AI platform developed by the company in collaboration with Google Gemini.
The company describes this concept as “Intelligent Ears” — earbuds designed to listen, understand, communicate and assist users through voice interactions.
The idea is to reduce the need to pick up a smartphone whenever someone wants to use AI. Instead of opening an application, typing a question or navigating through a screen, users can interact with Crest AI directly through their earbuds.
Crest AI is being introduced first with the boAt Airdopes Prime 800D and is also available on the boAt Airdopes Prime 701 ANC and boAt Nirvana Ion ANC.
What Is boAt Crest AI?
Crest AI is built around three primary features: Crest Ask, G-Assist and Crest Translate.
Crest Ask is designed for conversational interactions. Users can ask questions, explore ideas and continue a conversation without typing or taking out their phone. Follow-up questions can also be asked naturally, allowing the interaction to continue instead of requiring a new query each time.
G-Assist focuses on everyday productivity and works with Google services including Gmail, Tasks and Calendar. Users can use voice commands to check their schedules, manage tasks or deal with emails. For example, commands such as “summarize my day” or “reply to an email” can be handled through voice.
Crest Translate is aimed at multilingual conversations. It supports real-time, two-way translation across more than 25 languages, allowing people speaking different languages to communicate more easily.
Together, these features give the earbuds functions that go beyond conventional audio playback, adding conversational, productivity and translation capabilities.
boAt Airdopes Prime 800D: The First Crest AI Earbuds
The Airdopes Prime 800D is the first device in the Crest AI lineup and offers access to Crest Ask, G-Assist and Crest Translate.
For people who spend significant time commuting or moving between work locations, the voice features can be used to check a calendar, respond to an email or ask questions without reaching for a smartphone.
The earbuds feature Dolby Audio, 24-bit Spatial Audio and 11mm dynamic drivers tuned with boAt Signature Sound. For calls, four microphones with AI-ENx technology are designed to improve voice handling in environments such as traffic, public transport and open offices.
The earbuds also feature BEAST Mode with 45ms latency for closer audio and video synchronisation during video viewing and mobile gaming.
Android users can use Google Fast Pair for quicker pairing, while Multipoint Connectivity allows compatible devices to remain connected. In-Ear Detection automatically pauses playback when an earbud is removed.
Additional controls and features are available through the boAt Hearables App, including Adaptive EQ, customisable touch controls and device diagnostics.
The Airdopes Prime 800D offers up to 45 hours of total playback. Its ASAP Charge feature can provide around four hours of playback after a 10-minute charge. Bluetooth connectivity is rated for up to 12 metres, while IPX5 sweat and water resistance adds protection for everyday use.
Airdopes Prime 701 ANC and Nirvana Ion ANC
The boAt Airdopes Prime 701 ANC also supports the complete Crest AI experience, including Ask, Assist and Translate. It is positioned for users who spend considerable time on meetings, webinars, podcasts and other audio-based activities.
The model features boAt Spatial Audio with 24-bit sound and 10mm dynamic drivers tuned with Signature Sound. Hybrid ANC provides up to 46dB of noise cancellation, helping reduce surrounding sound in locations such as offices, cafés and during commutes.
Multipoint Connectivity allows the earbuds to remain connected to two devices at the same time. BEAST Mode offers 60ms low latency, while an enhanced microphone system is designed to improve voice transmission. Improved Bluetooth stability is also included.
The boAt Hearables App provides options such as Adaptive EQ, ANC controls and firmware updates. The Prime 701 ANC offers up to 50 hours of total playback and carries an IPX5 rating.
The third model, boAt Nirvana Ion ANC, focuses heavily on battery life while also supporting Crest AI. It offers up to 120 hours of combined playback, with ASAP fast charging taking around 2.5 hours for the case.
The earbuds feature up to 32dB Active Noise Cancellation and use ENx Technology with four microphones for voice pickup and call clarity in busy surroundings.
Multipoint Connectivity lets users stay connected to a laptop and smartphone simultaneously. BEAST Mode with 60ms latency is designed to keep audio and video synchronised for webinars, recorded meetings and entertainment.
For audio, the Nirvana Ion ANC comes with 10mm dynamic drivers, HiFi DSP tuning and Crystal Bionic Sound. Dual EQ Modes provide Balanced and Signature Sound profiles. The earbuds also carry an IPX4 water-resistance rating.
boAt’s Push Towards AI-Powered Audio
The Crest AI launch represents a broader move by boAt to bring AI-based functionality into its audio products. The company has described the initiative as the next stage of its collaboration with Google Cloud and plans to introduce more Crest AI-enabled products as it expands voice-based experiences across its device portfolio.
Rather than limiting AI to a smartphone application, boAt is positioning Crest AI as an intelligence layer that can operate through devices users already wear throughout the day.
For users, the approach is focused on hands-free interaction. Checking a schedule, asking a question, responding to an email or translating a conversation can be done through voice without repeatedly reaching for a phone.
The move also reflects the growing presence of AI features in True Wireless Stereo earbuds, where manufacturers are increasingly combining traditional audio functions with voice assistants, translation and productivity tools.
boAt says the Airdopes Prime 800D, Airdopes Prime 701 ANC and Nirvana Ion ANC are available through the company’s website and leading e-commerce platforms.
