The company has begun production at a new facility at its Hansalpur manufacturing complex in Gujarat. The additional capacity is expected to help address supply limitations that have affected the availability of Maruti Suzuki’s first electric model, the eVitara, in the Indian market.
The new facility was developed with an investment of approximately ₹3,900 crore and has the capacity to manufacture 250,000 EVs annually. This takes the total production capacity of the Hansalpur complex to around 1 million vehicles per year.
Maruti Suzuki Targets 4 Million Vehicles by 2030
Following the expansion, Maruti Suzuki’s combined annual production capacity across its four manufacturing locations has reached approximately 2.9 million vehicles.
The company currently operates manufacturing facilities at Hansalpur in Gujarat, which is its only EV production site, along with plants in Gurugram, Kharkhoda and Manesar in Haryana.
