The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand, South Interior Karnataka and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands today.
The weather department has also warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds across parts of Northeast India over the next two days. The affected areas include Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
Rain and Thunderstorm Alert for Several States
According to the IMD forecast, similar weather conditions are expected in several other parts of the country today. Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are among the areas likely to experience thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds.
Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Odisha and Telangana may also see similar weather activity.
