Kartik Aaryan visited Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja to seek Lord Ganesha’s blessings soon after receiving the National Film Award for Best Actor. The actor also carried his National Award to the temple and placed the honour at the feet of Lalbaugcha Raja during his prayers.
A video from the visit shows Kartik respectfully placing the award before Bappa before folding his hands and bowing his head in prayer. Dressed in a blue kurta with white bottoms, the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ actor kept his appearance simple and traditional for the occasion.
Kartik Aaryan Calls the Moment Special for His Family
Speaking about his visit, Kartik said the achievement was a particularly joyful moment for his entire family. He explained that coming to Lalbaugcha Raja after receiving the National Award made the occasion even more special.
“It’s a very happy moment for my entire family. I am very happy. I have come to seek blessings of Bappa. I got the National Film Award, and after that visiting Lalbaugcha Raja, it feels great,” the actor said.
Kartik Wins National Award for ‘Chandu Champion’
Kartik received the National Award for Best Actor on Tuesday for his performance in the 2024 biographical sports drama ‘Chandu Champion’. The honour marked a significant moment in the actor’s career.
Following the ceremony, Kartik shared a video on Instagram showing him receiving the award from President Droupadi Murmu. In his accompanying note, he reflected on his journey from Gwalior and the determination that helped him pursue his dream of becoming an actor.
Actor Remembers His Journey From Gwalior
In his post, Kartik described himself as a boy from Gwalior who dared to dream of becoming an actor despite coming from an environment where such ambitions were often laughed at. He said receiving the National Award left him overwhelmed with excitement and nervousness.
Kartik also expressed gratitude to director Kabir Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala for trusting him with the role of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold champion, in ‘Chandu Champion’.
Reflecting on the achievement, he wrote, “A dream of a small town boy, the dream of every actor in the country, the National Award for Best Actor.” He also recalled his character’s memorable line, “Chandu Nahi, Champiyon hai Main,” while expressing his gratitude for being given the opportunity to portray Petkar on screen.
