Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the fifth edition of SEMICON India 2026 on Thursday, September 17, at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi. The three-day semiconductor industry event will take place from September 17 to September 19.
The event is expected to bring together major global semiconductor companies, government policymakers, investors, researchers, start-ups, industry leaders and academic institutions on a common platform.
SEMICON India 2026 Theme: ‘Silicon to Systems’
This year’s event will be organised around the theme “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem.”
The theme reflects India’s growing ambitions in the semiconductor sector and its efforts to establish a stronger domestic ecosystem covering different stages of chip production and technology development.
India’s semiconductor push is gaining momentum with increased policy support and rising participation from the industry. At the same time, the global demand for reliable and diversified semiconductor supply chains is creating new opportunities for the country.
SEMICON India 2026 is being jointly organised by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and SEMI.
More Than 600 Exhibitors Expected
The exhibition will feature more than 600 exhibitors, including approximately 300 international companies.
The exhibition area will cover around 15,000 square metres, providing companies and organisations with space to showcase semiconductor technologies, products and solutions.
More than 150 speakers are expected to participate in keynote addresses, panel discussions and industry sessions.
The event will also feature six country pavilions and 12 state government pavilions, highlighting India’s semiconductor capabilities as well as international participation.
Start-ups and Students to Get Dedicated Platforms
Start-ups, students and skilled professionals will have a significant presence at SEMICON India 2026.
A dedicated Startup Pavilion will showcase approximately 40 start-ups, giving emerging companies an opportunity to present their technologies and ideas to investors, industry leaders and potential partners.
The event will also feature a Workforce Development Pavilion, focused on skills, talent development and career opportunities in the microelectronics industry.
A dedicated platform for women in the semiconductor sector will further focus on leadership, participation and opportunities for women across the industry.
‘Sand to Silicon to Systems’ Experience
One of the key attractions at SEMICON India 2026 will be the new ‘Sand to Silicon to Systems’ Value Chain Experience.
The initiative is designed to give visitors a comprehensive understanding of the semiconductor value chain and demonstrate how different stages are connected.
