Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff escaped unharmed after unidentified gunmen allegedly opened fire at his BMW in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday, October 18, 2026. The incident took a new turn when a man identifying himself as Anil Pandit reportedly claimed responsibility for the shooting through a message and a video allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The claim has not been independently verified, and Mumbai Police are investigating the authenticity of the circulating material and the possible involvement of an organised criminal group. The incident has also brought attention to an alleged threat directed at people in the film industry who continue to work with actor Salman Khan.

However, the identity of the person claiming responsibility, his alleged association with the gang and the motive behind the firing remain unconfirmed.

Who Is Anil Pandit? Details of the Alleged Gang Connection

Anil Pandit’s name surfaced in media reports after a message and video attributed to him began circulating following the Juhu shooting. The material reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack in the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Some media reports have described Pandit as being associated with the gang and have also mentioned Harman Sandhu in connection with the claim. However, the available reporting does not provide sufficient independently verified information to establish Pandit’s identity, criminal background or alleged position within the group.

Mumbai Police are examining the authenticity of the messages and video to determine whether the individuals named in them have any connection to the shooting. Until investigators confirm the details, claims about Pandit’s involvement and his alleged links to the gang remain unverified.

Why Was Tiger Shroff Allegedly Targeted?

The circulating video and audio message reportedly claimed that Tiger Shroff had ignored previous warnings and continued working with Salman Khan. The person claiming responsibility also allegedly threatened other members of the film industry who work with Khan.

These statements have brought Shroff’s professional association with Salman Khan into focus. However, the police have not established whether this connection was the actual motive behind the firing or whether the claim was intended to suggest such a link.

Investigators are examining the available material as part of their efforts to establish the circumstances and motive behind the attack.

Anil Pandit’s Name Linked to an Earlier Firing Incident

Anil Pandit’s name had also appeared in media reports concerning a firing incident at a gym associated with singer Guru Randhawa in Delhi’s Paschim Vihar area in June 2026.

A social media post and an audio message attributed to the Anil Pandit group of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had claimed responsibility for that incident. The group reportedly linked the attack to Randhawa’s association with Salman Khan. Police were verifying the claim at the time.

The earlier incident has added to the attention surrounding Pandit’s name following the shooting in Mumbai. However, the appearance of the same name in reports about separate incidents does not independently establish the identity of those responsible or prove that the cases are connected.

Mumbai Police Form 12 Teams to Trace Shooters

The firing took place on Sunday evening, October 18, when Tiger Shroff was returning from a football game in Juhu. According to reports, three men travelling on motorcycles allegedly fired at his BMW before fleeing the scene.

Shroff escaped without injuries, while his driver and an autorickshaw driver were reportedly injured and taken for medical treatment. Mumbai Police have formed 12 teams to trace the suspects and investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde condemned the incident and stated that gang wars would not be tolerated in Mumbai. He also assured that strict action would be taken against those responsible.

The investigation is focused on identifying the shooters, verifying the authenticity of the responsibility claim and determining whether the attack was connected to an organised criminal group. As of Sunday night, the alleged links between Anil Pandit, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and the Juhu firing remained unconfirmed by police.
