Vivo V80 5G Launched in India at ₹62,999: 7,200mAh Battery, Zeiss Camera and 144Hz AMOLED Display

Vivo has expanded its V-series smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the new Vivo V80. The company has introduced the standard V80 model for now, while details about the Elite and Pro variants have not been announced.

The smartphone focuses on camera capabilities, battery life and display performance. Key highlights include a 7,200mAh battery, 90W fast charging, Zeiss camera technology and a 144Hz AMOLED display. The Vivo V80 starts at ₹62,999 in India, while the highest storage variant is priced at ₹79,999.

Vivo V80 Price and Availability

The Vivo V80 is available in three configurations. The 8GB RAM with 128GB storage variant costs ₹62,999, while the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model is priced at ₹69,999. The top-end version with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage carries a price tag of ₹79,999.

Pre-bookings for the smartphone started on October 7, with regular sales scheduled to begin on October 13. Customers will be able to purchase the device through the Vivo online store, Amazon India, Flipkart and offline retail outlets.

The Vivo V80 is available in Stellar Black, Horizon Blue and Sunrise Anthem colour options.

144Hz AMOLED Display and Snapdragon 7 Gen 4

The Vivo V80 comes with a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display featuring a resolution of 2750×1260 pixels. The screen supports a 144Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations.

Vivo claims the display can reach a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits, while its High Brightness Mode (HBM) offers brightness of up to 1,800 nits.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, the same chipset used in the V70.

On the software front, the Vivo V80 runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17. It is Vivo’s first smartphone to launch with Android 17. The company has promised four OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the device.

7,200mAh Battery and Zeiss Camera Setup

Battery capacity is one of the major highlights of the Vivo V80. The phone packs a 7,200mAh battery, which Vivo describes as the largest battery used in its V-series.

The large battery is designed to provide extended usage for activities such as video streaming, social media and photography. The device also supports 90W fast charging for quicker battery top-ups.

Photography is another major focus of the smartphone. Its rear camera system consists of a 50MP primary camera with OIS and Zeiss optics, a 50MP telephoto camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera.

For selfies and group shots, the phone features a 50MP front-facing camera. Vivo has also included more than 30 AI-powered creative features designed to add additional options to the camera experience.

One of these features is AI Diwali Portrait 2.0. The smartphone also supports 4K cinematic video recording. Its telephoto camera offers focal lengths including 85mm and 100mm, providing different framing options for portraits and close-up photography.

IP68, IP69 Rating and Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor

The Vivo V80 also comes with protection features designed for added durability. The smartphone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Another notable feature is its 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which provides an additional biometric security option for unlocking the device.

With its large 7,200mAh battery, 144Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset and Zeiss-powered camera system, the Vivo V80 brings a combination of display, photography and battery-focused features to the Indian smartphone market.
