Tata Motors has released another teaser of its upcoming compact sedan, the Tata Aeris, ahead of its September 25, 2026 debut. The latest teaser provides a clearer look at the car’s exterior, including its new LED lighting elements, revised rear design and fresh alloy wheels. The Aeris will replace the Tigor in Tata’s sub-4-metre sedan lineup and is expected to bring a more extensively updated design along with changes to the cabin.
The new sedan is expected to retain the existing 1.2-litre petrol engine, while petrol-CNG and electric versions are also expected to continue as part of the Aeris range. Tata is yet to reveal the complete specifications and variant-wise details.
Tata Aeris Front and Rear Design
The latest teaser highlights the redesigned front profile of the Tata Aeris. It gets slimmer LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights, giving the sedan a sharper appearance compared with the outgoing Tigor. LED fog lamps and a revised front bumper with a larger lower air intake are also visible in the teaser.
Tata has also made noticeable changes at the rear. The Aeris features redesigned LED tail lamps with a revised lighting pattern, along with updated boot-lid and bumper detailing. The Aeris name is positioned across the tailgate beneath the Tata logo.
Another visible change is the new alloy-wheel design. The latest teaser shows a fresh pattern that gives the sedan a more modern look. These wheels are expected to be offered on higher variants, although Tata has not yet announced the complete variant-wise equipment list.
Expected Interior and Features
The cabin of the Tata Aeris is also expected to receive a substantial update. While Tata has not yet revealed the complete interior, reports indicate that the sedan could get a redesigned dashboard along with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, an updated digital instrument display, a revised steering wheel and changes to the centre-console layout.
The interior is expected to take design inspiration from Tata’s newer models, with a greater focus on technology and convenience features. However, the complete equipment list will only be confirmed when the car is officially unveiled.
Petrol, CNG and Electric Powertrain
The Tata Aeris is expected to continue with the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine used by the Tigor. The petrol motor produces 84 bhp and 113 Nm of torque and is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
A factory-fitted CNG version is also expected to remain part of the lineup. The existing CNG setup produces 72 bhp and 96.5 Nm and is available with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT transmissions.
An electric version is also expected, effectively continuing the Tigor EV’s place in the lineup. The outgoing Tigor EV used a 26 kWh battery pack with a 55 kW electric motor producing 170 Nm of torque and had a certified range of up to 315 km. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether the Aeris EV will retain exactly the same battery, motor and range specifications.
With the September 25 launch approaching, Tata is expected to reveal the remaining details, including pricing, variants, complete specifications and the final feature list.
