SBI New Update: State Bank of India (SBI) has advised customers to finish important branch-related banking work before the upcoming three-day nationwide bank strike. Customers who need to deposit cheques, submit documents, carry out cash transactions or get assistance from bank staff should avoid waiting until the last moment.
A three-day bank strike is scheduled from September 28 to September 30. Before that, bank branches will remain closed on September 26 and 27, which fall on Saturday and Sunday. As a result, customers could face interruptions in branch-based services for five consecutive days.
SBI Advises Customers to Finish Work by September 25
SBI has advised customers to complete any banking activity that requires a physical branch visit by September 25.
People who need to submit forms, deposit cheques, provide important documents or complete cash-related work should plan their visits in advance. Such services could be delayed during the strike because regular branch staff may not be available.
Customers who receive salaries or pensions in their bank accounts should also keep track of upcoming credits and payments. If any related task requires assistance at a branch, completing it before the strike is advisable.
What Should Salary and Pension Customers Do?
Salary and pension account holders should check whether they have any pending banking requirements before the strike starts. Any document submission, payment-related work or other branch-dependent service should preferably be completed by September 25.
Customers who expect to need cash during the strike should also make the necessary arrangements beforehand. For routine expenses, digital payment options can continue to be used.
Digital Banking Services Will Remain Available
Although branch-based operations may be affected, customers can continue using several digital banking facilities for regular transactions.
UPI, mobile banking and internet banking can be used for money transfers, bill payments and other everyday requirements. Customers can also use ATMs and, where applicable, Customer Service Points (CSPs) for certain banking services.
SBI customers can also access various banking facilities through the YONO app, reducing the need to visit a branch for routine transactions.
Five-Day Disruption for Branch Banking Services
The combination of the weekend holidays and the three-day strike means customers could experience a five-day interruption in regular branch operations.
Banks will be closed on September 26 and 27, followed by the nationwide strike on September 28, 29 and 30. While efforts will be made to maintain essential services, customers requiring branch assistance should complete their work in advance to avoid possible delays.
