Bollywood star Salman Khan has expanded his business interests into the luxury real estate sector with a high-end residential project in Mohali, Punjab. The development was officially unveiled on Saturday night, but the actor could not attend the launch in person due to what he described as “unavoidable circumstances.” He sent a video message to convey his wishes to the organisers and those associated with the project.

In his message, Khan said, “Due to unavoidable circumstances, I could not make it tonight, but, even though I am not physically present there, my heart, my spirit, and my best wishes are with you.”

Salman Khan Residences: Inside the ₹2,500 Crore Mohali Development

The project, located in Aerocity, Mohali, near Chandigarh, is being developed through a collaboration between Punjab-based real estate company GB Realty, international luxury watch and jewellery brand Jacob & Co, and Salman Khan. The development is estimated to have a total value of ₹2,500 crore.

The planned complex will feature six residential towers offering spacious three- and four-bedroom apartments. Two towers are designated as Salman Khan Residences, while three will carry the Jacob & Co name. The development is expected to combine luxury homes with modern amenities, with the broader project potentially taking the form of an integrated township.

Earlier this month, names including ‘SK Towers’, ‘The Salman Towers’ and ‘Salman Khan Towers’ were registered for the proposed development, highlighting the actor’s association with the project.

Why Salman Khan Missed the Launch Event

Although Salman Khan cited unavoidable circumstances in his video message and other media outlets suggested that security concerns and professional commitments may have contributed to his absence.

Security concerns surrounding the actor have persisted amid reported threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Earlier this month, the gang reportedly opened fire at actor Tiger Shroff’s car. According to reports citing the police investigation, Salman Khan was initially the intended target, but the attackers shifted their focus to Tiger Shroff because of Khan’s extensive security arrangements.

The incident has renewed attention on previous threats against the Bollywood star, including a firing incident outside his Bandra residence in April 2024.

Salman Khan’s Upcoming Film Projects

Alongside his business ventures, Khan has several major film projects lined up, adding to his professional commitments. He is scheduled to begin shooting for a superhero film directed by Raj & DK in October 2026.

The actor is also set to appear in an action film directed by Vamshi Paidipally, tentatively titled Monster. The film, which co-stars Nayanthara, is planned for an Eid 2027 release.

Meanwhile, his war drama Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, which was initially scheduled to arrive in theatres in April 2026, is reportedly targeting a release in November or December 2026.

With the Mohali development, Salman Khan is expanding his presence beyond the entertainment industry while continuing to work on several upcoming film projects.
