PM Kisan Yojana: Millions of farmers waiting for their next payment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme may receive the 24th installment in October. The Central Government is expected to release the amount soon, although the Agriculture Ministry has not yet made an official announcement regarding the payment date.
Under the PM Kisan scheme, eligible farmers receive financial assistance from the government in three installments every year. The 23rd installment, worth Rs 18,880 crore, was released in June. So far, the government’s total expenditure under the scheme has reached Rs 4.46 lakh crore.
The installments are generally released during three periods: April to July, August to November, and December to March.
PM Kisan e-KYC Is Mandatory
Farmers who have not yet completed their e-KYC should complete the process to receive scheme benefits. Aadhaar-based verification requires the farmer’s mobile number to be linked with Aadhaar.
e-KYC can be completed online through the PM Kisan Portal. Farmers can also visit their nearest Common Service Center (CSC) to complete biometric verification. The process is also available through the PM Kisan mobile app.
Farmers can check whether their names appear on the beneficiary list by visiting the PM Kisan Portal. Under the Farmers Corner, select the Beneficiary List option and enter the required details, including state, district, tehsil, block and village. After selecting Report, the beneficiary list will be displayed.
The payment status can also be checked online by entering the registered mobile number or registration number along with the captcha code.
Who Can Get PM Kisan Benefits?
The PM Kisan scheme is available to eligible farmer families who own cultivable land. However, the scheme excludes certain categories of individuals.
Institutional landowners, certain serving or retired government employees, holders of constitutional posts and income tax payers are among those excluded. Certain professionals, including doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants and architects, are also not covered under the scheme.
How Much Money Do Farmers Receive?
Eligible farmer families receive Rs 6,000 per financial year under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. The amount is divided into three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each.
The payment is transferred directly to the registered bank account of eligible beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
