A court in Patna, Bihar, has granted anticipatory bail to renowned educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, in connection with the coaching institute firing case. The decision provides significant legal relief to the popular teacher, who had sought protection from arrest following the incident.

The court also extended relief to three employees associated with Khan Sir’s coaching institute, while two security guards arrested in the case were granted regular bail.

Three Coaching Staff Members Also Receive Bail

According to Khan Sir’s legal counsel, Arvind Kumar Mouar, the court approved anticipatory bail for six individuals linked to the case.

Speaking to reporters, the lawyer said the judge first granted anticipatory bail to Khan Sir, followed by similar relief for three staff members working at his coaching institute.

Separately, the Patna Civil Court ordered the release of the two security guards who had been arrested in connection with the firing incident.

What Is the Khan Sir Coaching Centre Firing Case?

The case dates back to early June, when a group of alleged miscreants reportedly vandalised Khan Sir’s coaching institute in Patna.

During the disturbance, Khan Sir’s two security guards allegedly opened fire while responding to the situation. Following the incident, an FIR was registered, and both the security personnel and Khan Sir were named in the investigation.

The matter has since remained under judicial scrutiny as authorities continue their probe into the incident.

Court Had Earlier Reserved Its Verdict

Before granting anticipatory bail, the Patna court had reserved its decision after hearing final arguments from both the prosecution and the defence.

The order, initially expected earlier, was postponed due to the district judge being on leave. The court ultimately delivered its verdict on July 13, granting relief to Khan Sir and the other accused.

Earlier Protection From Arrest

This is not the first time the court has provided temporary protection to the educator.

Soon after the FIR was registered, the court granted Khan Sir interim protection from arrest on June 9. That protection was later extended multiple times while his anticipatory bail application was under consideration.

The court had also postponed hearings on the bail applications of the two security guards, who remained in judicial custody before eventually securing bail.

Court Sought Details of Security Guards’ Arms Licences

During earlier proceedings, the court asked for information regarding the firearm licences held by Khan Sir’s security personnel.

According to advocate Satyam Jha, representing Khan Sir’s rival Roshan Anand, the court sought details of the guards’ licensed weapons before proceeding with the matter.

The hearings continued over several weeks before the court delivered its final decision.

Investigation Continues

While anticipatory bail protects Khan Sir from arrest during the investigation, the legal proceedings in the coaching centre firing case are still ongoing.

Authorities are expected to continue examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged vandalism, the firing incident, and the role of all individuals involved before the matter reaches its next stage in court.
