In an interaction with News18, Neena Gupta recalled regularly being asked when she planned to get married. The actor said she would respond directly, reminding people that she was financially independent and questioning why her personal decisions were a concern to others.
She also remembered an incident involving her neighbours, who had complained about her. Neena said she later learned who was responsible and decided to maintain her distance from those individuals.
How Pregnancy Rumours Started
Earlier this year, Neena Gupta attended the wedding reception of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in Hyderabad. Pictures and videos from the event circulated online, after which some social media users speculated that the actor was pregnant.
The speculation reportedly began after a slight bulge was noticed around her stomach in the images. Neena explained that she had been wearing a saree made from thick material, and the way one of its pleats had fallen created the appearance of a bulge.
She said the rumours annoyed her at the time. Eventually, however, Neena began responding to the speculation humorously, telling people that she was pregnant.
