Mahindra is preparing to enter India’s lifestyle pickup segment with the new Scorpio Lifestyler. Based on the company’s Global Pik Up, the upcoming model combines the familiar Scorpio identity with a dedicated cargo bed, four-wheel-drive capability, modern technology and SUV-like comfort.
Mahindra unveiled the production-intent Scorpio Lifestyler on August 14, 2026, and has confirmed that the pickup will be launched in India by April 2027. The company has announced that its starting price will be below ₹19.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
Distinctive Design With a Large Cargo Bed
The Scorpio Lifestyler has been developed as a dedicated lifestyle pickup rather than simply adding a cargo section to an existing SUV. It gets a double-cab layout with a separate rear load bed, giving the vehicle additional practicality for both everyday use and outdoor activities.
The exterior features a large front grille, sleek LED lighting, vertically positioned fog lamps, chunky wheel arches and a redesigned rear section. The tailgate carries prominent Mahindra lettering, while the squared-off LED tail lamps and robust bumpers add to its pickup character.
The dedicated cargo bed is one of the biggest differences from the Scorpio SUV. The vehicle has also been designed with lifestyle and adventure use in mind, with Mahindra showcasing different expressions of the pickup for work, leisure and outdoor activities.
Premium Cabin and Modern Features
Inside, the Scorpio Lifestyler takes a more premium approach than a conventional utility pickup. The cabin gets a redesigned dashboard, a new steering wheel, vertically positioned air-conditioning vents and a large portrait-style infotainment display.
The vehicle is also expected to offer features aimed at improving comfort and convenience, including modern climate-control functions, premium seating and advanced camera and driver-assistance technology. Mahindra says the pickup has been developed to combine capability with technology, safety, comfort and everyday usability.
The pickup is built on Mahindra’s next-generation body-on-frame architecture and is being developed as a global product. The company has showcased three themed versions — Valley, Reef and Trail — highlighting different approaches to work, leisure and adventure.
Engine, 4WD and Launch Timeline
Mahindra has confirmed that the Scorpio Lifestyler will offer four-wheel-drive capability through its 4XPLOR system. The company has not yet released the complete official powertrain and transmission specifications for the India-spec model. Reports have pointed towards the 2.2-litre diesel engine and manual and automatic gearbox options, but these details should be treated as expected specifications until Mahindra officially confirms them.
The Scorpio Lifestyler is scheduled to make its India debut by April 2027. Mahindra has stated that the starting price will be below ₹19.79 lakh ex-showroom, while the final variant-wise prices and complete specifications are expected to be announced closer to launch.
