The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has informed pensioners that they can now submit their Digital Life Certificate (DLC), also known as Jeevan Pramaan Patra, through a doorstep service offered by India Post Payments Bank (IPPB).

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the EPFO encouraged pensioners to request the service and complete the process from home without having to visit a bank branch or other office.

Pensioners must submit their annual life certificate by November 30. The certificate can be submitted digitally through biometric authentication, using doorstep banking services or by visiting the relevant bank branch.

How to Request a Doorstep Digital Life Certificate

The EPFO has highlighted the Postal Department’s role in helping pensioners complete the annual life certificate process within the deadline. Through IPPB, pensioners can request assistance from a postal worker or Grameen Dak Sevak at their homes.

According to the official India Post website, IPPB uses the Department of Posts’ extensive network to facilitate digital life certificate generation. The service is integrated with an application developed and maintained by the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

Pensioners can follow these steps to use the service:

  1. Call 033-22029000 to request a doorstep visit from a postman or Grameen Dak Sevak.
  2. Complete the digital life certificate process with the visiting postal worker.
  3. After successful generation, the pensioner will receive a Pramaan ID directly from NIC.
  4. Use the Pramaan ID to access and download the certificate through the official Jeevan Pramaan portal: https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/ppouser/login.

The service is available to both IPPB account holders and non-IPPB customers. A fee of ₹70, inclusive of GST and cess, applies for each successfully generated digital life certificate. No additional doorstep charge is levied for issuing the certificate.

The facility is available to pensioners whose pension-disbursing agency is registered and active on the DLC system. The list of eligible sanctioning authorities and disbursing agencies is available at https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/misc/circular.

What Is Jeevan Pramaan Patra?

Jeevan Pramaan Patra is a government-supported digital facility that allows pensioners to submit their annual life certificate electronically.

The certificate confirms that the pension recipient is alive and enables the relevant pension-disbursing authority to continue pension payments, subject to its verification and processing requirements.

The digital process is intended to make annual certificate submission more convenient, particularly for pensioners who find it difficult to travel to a bank or government office.

How to Check Digital Life Certificate Status

Generating a Digital Life Certificate does not automatically mean that the pension-disbursing authority has accepted it. Pensioners should therefore check the status after completing the submission process.

To do this, visit the official Jeevan Pramaan website at https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in and use the available certificate services with the relevant Pramaan ID.

If the certificate has been rejected or its status is unclear, contact the concerned bank or pension-disbursing authority for clarification and assistance.

Pensioners should complete the process before the November 30 deadline and retain their Pramaan ID for future reference.
