Bank holidays in November 2026 will vary across India, with several cities observing regional closures for festivals and religious occasions. Important dates include November 9, 10, 11, 13, 16, 20, 23, 24 and 27.

The holiday schedule includes observances such as Diwali, Chhath Puja, Guru Nanak Jayanti and Kanakadasa Jayanthi. Banks will also remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, which fall on November 14 and November 28.

Since regional holidays differ from one state or city to another, customers should check the schedule applicable to their local bank branch before planning a visit.

Bank Holidays on November 9, 10 and 11

On November 9, banks will remain closed in Agartala, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Gangtok, Imphal, Jaipur, Kanpur and Lucknow. The closures are associated with festivals and observances including Diwali, Laxmi Puja, Govardhan Pooja and Vishwakarma Day.

On November 10, bank branches in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Dehradun, Gangtok, Mumbai and Nagpur will observe a holiday. The occasions include Bali Pratipada, Govardhan Puja, Laxmi Puja and Vikram Samvat New Year.

Further closures are scheduled for November 11 in Gangtok, Imphal, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow and Shimla. The observances include Laxmi Puja, Ningol Chakkouba, Bhai Dooj and Chitragupt Jayanti.

Gangtok will therefore have three consecutive days of regional bank holidays, from November 9 through November 11.

Bank Holidays on November 13, 16, 20 and 23

The next regional closures will take place later in the month:

  • November 13: Banks in Shillong will remain closed for the Wangala Festival.
  • November 16: Bank branches in Patna and Ranchi will observe a holiday for Chhath Puja.
  • November 20: Dehradun will have a bank holiday for Igas-Bagwal.
  • November 23: Banks in Shillong will close for Seng Kut Snem.

Customers in these locations should complete urgent branch-related work before the respective holidays.

November 24 Bank Holiday: Multiple Cities Affected

November 24 will see regional bank closures across a wide range of cities for Guru Nanak Jayanti, Karthika Purnima and Rahas Purnima.

The affected cities include New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Lucknow. Banks will also remain closed in Aizawl, Belapur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Itanagar, Jammu, Kanpur, Kohima, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla and Srinagar.

Because the holiday applies to multiple banking centres, customers should confirm whether their local branch will be open before making a visit.

November 27 and 28: Consecutive Bank Closures in Bengaluru

Bengaluru will observe a bank holiday on November 27 for Kanakadasa Jayanthi. The following day, November 28, is the fourth Saturday of the month, when banks will remain closed under the regular Saturday holiday schedule.

The second Saturday, November 14, will also be a bank holiday.

According to the provided schedule, no additional regional holidays are listed for Chennai, Guwahati, Kochi, Panaji, Thiruvananthapuram or Vijayawada. However, the regular Saturday closures will still apply in these cities.

Customers should check the applicable holiday list before visiting a branch and complete time-sensitive banking work in advance. Although physical branches may be closed, the availability of digital banking services will depend on the service being used.
