Seven years after its original theatrical release, Avengers: Endgame is back on the big screen with Avengers Endgame: Encore. The Marvel blockbuster is once again attracting audiences, with the re-release featuring additional content connected to the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
After a decent opening on Friday, the film recorded an improvement in its India box office numbers on Saturday. Here is a look at the film’s Day 2 performance in India and its latest worldwide box office figures.
Avengers Endgame Encore Box Office Collection Day 2
Avengers Endgame: Encore witnessed a rise in its India net collection on Saturday. According to Sacnilk estimates, the film earned Rs 7.65 crore net on Day 2, compared with Rs 7.25 crore on its opening day. This represents a 5.5% increase from Friday.
Following its first two days, the re-release has collected Rs 14.90 crore net in India, while its India gross collection stands at Rs 17.83 crore.
The film was released across approximately 3,700 theatres in India. Saturday also recorded better occupancy compared with the opening day, according to Sacnilk.
The English version continued to lead the collections on Day 2, earning Rs 5.60 crore with an occupancy of 43.1%. The Hindi version contributed Rs 1.35 crore, while the Tamil and Telugu versions collected Rs 35 lakh each.
Afternoon and evening screenings recorded particularly strong occupancy across the different language versions.
Avengers Endgame Encore Worldwide Box Office
The Marvel re-release is also performing in international markets. In North America, Avengers Endgame: Encore opened with around $11.2 million on Friday, with the film playing across 3,060 screens in the region.
Following its second day of re-release, the film has helped push the franchise’s lifetime global box office total beyond the $2.8 billion mark.
The original Avengers: Endgame remains one of the highest-grossing theatrical releases in global cinema history. During its original run, the film earned approximately $2.799 billion worldwide.
The Encore release is now bringing the blockbuster back to theatres, giving Marvel fans another opportunity to watch the film on the big screen ahead of Avengers: Doomsday.
Avengers Endgame Encore Gets a Weekend Boost
The Day 2 figures indicate that audience interest in the re-release remained strong, with India’s collection increasing from Friday to Saturday.
Along with the opportunity to revisit the popular Marvel film, the additional content and its connection with Avengers: Doomsday have provided another reason for fans to watch the movie in theatres.
The Encore version includes new material as well as an exclusive preview connected to the next Avengers movie, which is scheduled to arrive in December.
After two days, Avengers Endgame: Encore has earned Rs 14.90 crore net in India. The Sunday collection will determine the film’s final opening-weekend total.
