Gold and silver prices witnessed another decline on Sunday, November 1, 2026, as concerns over inflation, rising energy costs and expectations of tighter US monetary policy affected investor sentiment. Both precious metals remained under pressure following a volatile October, with investors booking profits and the US dollar gaining strength.
According to the All India Sarafa Association, the price of 99.9% pure gold dropped by ₹3,200 to ₹1,42,000 per 10 grams. The metal was last quoted at ₹1,42,300 per 10 grams on December 26, 2025.
Silver prices also continued to move lower. The metal declined by ₹4,200 to ₹1,86,000 per kilogram. Silver was last traded near this level on December 8, 2025, when its price stood at ₹1,85,000 per kilogram, according to PTI.
International bullion markets also recorded significant losses. Spot gold fell by $145.84, or nearly 4%, to close at $3,875.55 per ounce on Friday, reaching its lowest level in more than a year. Spot silver dropped by $3.04, or around 6%, to settle at $49.12 per ounce.
Rajeev Sharan, Head of Research at Brickwork Ratings, said October was a particularly volatile month for both precious metals. He attributed the correction to several factors, including investor profit booking, a stronger US dollar, higher bond yields and declining expectations of early interest rate cuts.
