Mrunal Thakur has addressed speculation about her possible involvement in Raaka, the upcoming sci-fi action film starring Allu Arjun and directed by Atlee. Although rumours linking the actress to the highly anticipated project have circulated for nearly two years, she has not confirmed whether she is part of the film.
In a recent interview on October 13, 2026, the Sita Ramam actress spoke about her approach to choosing projects, explaining that she is currently looking for meaningful roles rather than signing films simply to stay busy.
Is Mrunal Thakur Part of Allu Arjun’s Raaka?
Formerly known as AA22xA6, Raaka received its official title in April 2026. The ambitious sci-fi and supernatural action film features Allu Arjun, reportedly in multiple avatars, with Deepika Padukone playing a major role. Janhvi Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna have also been linked to the project.
Directed by Atlee and produced by Sun Pictures, the film is reportedly being developed on a budget exceeding Rs 800 crore. It is tentatively targeting a theatrical release in December 2027.
Mrunal Thakur has frequently been mentioned in reports about the film’s potential cast. However, when asked about her involvement, the actress neither confirmed nor denied the rumours.
“I haven’t signed any film in almost nine months. I’m waiting for a meaningful role to come [my way]. Now, whatever announcement has to happen, it will happen on my social media handle and then I’d love to talk about it,” she said.
Her response leaves her reported association with Raaka unconfirmed, with audiences awaiting an official announcement.

Thakur also explained why she has been taking time to evaluate the projects offered to her. According to the actress, she continues to receive numerous offers, but the stories presented to her have not always matched her creative interests.
“I am at the top of offers. But I don’t resonate with the stories that are being made. So, I have chosen to take some time off because I don’t want to question why I’m on set every day,” she explained.
Her comments reflect her decision to prioritise scripts that provide creative fulfilment. Rather than committing to projects based solely on their availability, she wants to ensure that her future roles are meaningful and worth pursuing.
