Amazfit has introduced the T-Rex Dual Solar, a rugged smartwatch that brings solar charging to both the front and rear of the device. The watch packs a 660mAh battery and is claimed to offer up to 21 days of typical usage, with regular exposure to sunlight extending battery life to as much as 51 days.
Amazfit T-Rex Dual Solar Offers Extended Battery Life
The dual-sided solar charging system is the key feature of the new Amazfit smartwatch. Solar panels are placed on both sides of the watch, allowing it to generate power when exposed to sunlight.
With its 660mAh battery, the T-Rex Dual Solar can reportedly run for up to 21 days under typical usage without relying on sunlight. With around three hours of daily sunlight exposure, battery life can increase to up to 34 days.
Amazfit says that when the rear solar panel also receives around three hours of sunlight every day, the watch can deliver up to 51 days between charges. Actual battery performance will vary depending on usage, enabled features and the amount of sunlight available.
3,000-Nit AMOLED Display and Rugged Build
The smartwatch features a 1.32-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits, making it suitable for use in bright outdoor conditions. The screen is protected by sapphire glass, while the overall construction is designed to withstand demanding environments.
For fitness tracking, the T-Rex Dual Solar supports more than 180 workout modes. It also comes with Bluetooth calling, allowing users to make and receive calls without being constantly connected to their phone for that function.
The watch has a 10 ATM water-resistance rating, making it suitable for swimming and other water-based activities. A built-in LED flashlight is also included for use in low-light conditions.
Amazfit T-Rex Dual Solar Price in the US
The Amazfit T-Rex Dual Solar is currently available in a Basalt Black finish with a silicone strap. In the US, the smartwatch is priced at USD 650, which is approximately Rs 57,000 based on the stated conversion.
However, the final price in India could be different because of applicable taxes and import charges. Amazfit has not yet shared details about the T-Rex Dual Solar’s launch date or pricing for the Indian market.
