CNG cars have traditionally been associated with manual transmissions, but that is changing as more manufacturers introduce automatic gearbox options. Buyers who want the fuel savings of CNG along with the convenience of an automatic transmission now have several choices in the Indian market.

Models such as the Tata Tiago, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Baleno, Dzire and Tata Punch are available with CNG and automatic gearboxes. These cars can be particularly convenient for regular city driving, where frequent gear changes can become tiring. Here are the key details of five CNG automatic cars, including their prices, engines, mileage and features.

Tata Tiago iCNG AMT

The Tata Tiago iCNG AMT is among the most affordable CNG automatic cars on this list. Its price ranges from ₹7.13 lakh to ₹8.62 lakh.

One of its key features is Tata’s twin-cylinder CNG system, with the cylinders positioned underneath the luggage floor. Depending on the variant, equipment includes an 8-inch or 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera and paddle shifters.
