Iseop’s Romance has faced another major casting change even before production begins. Actress Choi Yoon Ji has reportedly stepped away from the upcoming tvN romance drama after changes to the production schedule created difficulties with her previously planned commitments.
Her departure comes shortly after Lee Jong Suk was also confirmed to have left the project. The two actors had originally been announced as the drama’s main leads, meaning the production team will now need to cast both the male and female lead roles again.
Why Did Choi Yoon Ji Leave Iseop’s Romance?
According to a report by News1, Choi Yoon Ji’s existing schedule became difficult to coordinate after the production plans for Iseop’s Romance changed.
A representative from tvN subsequently confirmed that the actress would no longer be part of the drama because of scheduling issues. Her agency, PEACE, also confirmed her departure, explaining that her previously arranged activities could not be successfully aligned with the drama’s revised production schedule.
The decision was reportedly reached after discussions between the actress, her agency and the production team.
Lee Jong Suk Also Departed the Drama
Choi Yoon Ji is not the first lead actor to leave Iseop’s Romance. Lee Jong Suk’s departure was confirmed on September 3, with scheduling conflicts also cited as the reason for his exit.
With both originally announced leads now out of the project, the makers are expected to begin the search for new actors to take on the central roles.
The casting changes could also affect the drama’s production timeline as the team works to finalise the replacement cast.
