Vivo has unveiled its new X500 flagship smartphone series at a global launch event in the Canary Islands, Europe, on October 27, 2026. The lineup includes three models: the Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro and Vivo X500 Pro Max. Following their international debut, the smartphones are confirmed to arrive in India within the next few weeks, with availability expected by the end of November 2026.
The new lineup succeeds the Vivo X300 series, with the company skipping the X400 naming convention. The X500 series brings upgrades across processing power, camera capabilities, display technology and battery capacity, positioning the devices in the premium smartphone segment.
Vivo X500 Series Performance and Display Specifications
The Vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset, manufactured using a 2nm process. According to the reported specifications, the two models are the first smartphones to feature this processor, which is designed to deliver high performance alongside improved power efficiency.
The standard Vivo X500 uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9600M, reportedly a rebranded version of the Dimensity 9500.
Display specifications vary across the three devices. The X500 Pro features a 6.36-inch BOE Q11 LTPO AMOLED display, while the larger X500 Pro Max comes with a 6.85-inch panel. Both offer 2K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits.
The standard X500 features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate.
All three smartphones run OriginOS 7, based on Android 17, and carry IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Battery capacity is another major feature of the lineup. The Vivo X500 Pro Max packs an 8,000mAh battery in its domestic configuration, while the global variant comes with a 7,800mAh unit. The X500 Pro houses a 6,510mAh battery, and the standard X500 includes a 7,500mAh cell.
The batteries use high-density silicon-carbon technology. All three models support 90W wired FlashCharge and 40W wireless charging.
ZEISS Camera Technology Takes the Spotlight
Camera performance is a key focus of the Vivo X500 series, with all three smartphones featuring camera systems co-engineered with ZEISS. The X500 Pro Max leads the lineup with a triple rear camera setup.
Its primary camera uses a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA L910 sensor measuring 1/1.28 inches, paired with an f/1.57 aperture, ZEISS T* coating, a claimed 17 EV dynamic range and 3-degree gimbal-grade optical image stabilisation (OIS).
The phone also features a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with an 85mm-equivalent focal length. Based on Samsung’s ISOCELL HP0 sensor, which measures 1/1.4 inches, the camera includes CIPA 7.0-rated stabilisation. The third camera is a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL JN5 ultrawide sensor with a 15mm-equivalent focal length.
The Vivo X500 Pro also features a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA L910 primary sensor, with 1.5-degree OIS, alongside a 64-megapixel Sony LYTIA 610 telephoto camera with stabilisation.
Meanwhile, the standard Vivo X500 uses a 50-megapixel LYTIA 828 main sensor and a 64-megapixel LYTIA 610 telephoto camera with a 72mm-equivalent focal length. Both Pro models feature a 50-megapixel front camera.
Video recording is another highlight, particularly on the X500 Pro Max. The device supports native 8K video recording at 30 frames per second, 4K slow-motion recording at 240fps and 4K recording at 120fps with Pro AF Tracking Video.
The Pro models also support 10-bit video capture with 4:2:2 encoding and compatibility with the Academy Color Encoding System (ACES), offering additional tools for professional content creators.
