UP Home Guard PET Exam 2026 Postponed: Candidates preparing for the Uttar Pradesh Home Guard recruitment have received an important update. The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has postponed the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST), which were scheduled to begin on September 14.
The decision was taken because of continuous heavy rainfall and waterlogging near examination centres in several parts of the state. The Board said the postponement was necessary to ensure the safety of candidates.
The recruitment drive is being conducted for 41,424 Home Guard posts, and a large number of candidates are expected to participate in the selection process.
Why Has the UP Home Guard PET/PST Exam Been Postponed?
According to the Board’s notification, the scheduled PET/PST examination has been deferred until further notice.
Heavy rainfall across Uttar Pradesh has caused waterlogging around several examination venues, making it difficult to conduct the physical tests safely. Considering these circumstances, the recruitment board decided to postpone the examination.
A revised schedule will be issued by the Board once the situation improves.

At present, the recruitment board has not announced a fresh date for the PET and PST examinations.

What About the UP Home Guard PET Admit Card?
The admit cards for the physical tests are expected to be issued again after the Board announces the revised examination dates.

UP Home Guard PET Exam Pattern
Candidates who have qualified in the written examination will have to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test.
The running requirements mentioned for the PET are:
- Male candidates: 4.8 km run within 28 minutes
- Female candidates: 2.4 km run within 16 minutes
Candidates will also undergo the Physical Standard Test (PST). For male candidates, physical measurements including height and chest will be assessed as part of the process.

The UP Home Guard PET/PST was scheduled to be conducted at 10 major locations across Uttar Pradesh.
Candidates from different districts, including those travelling from remote areas, had been preparing for the physical test. While the postponement may be disappointing for many applicants, the additional time can also be used to improve running performance, stamina and overall physical fitness.
