Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to release the 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme on October 30, 2026. The national-level programme will take place in Bhildi town in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district, according to state Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani, as reported by PTI.
During the event, more than ₹18,680 crore will be transferred to over 9.34 crore farmer families across India, Vaghani said. Modi is scheduled to visit Gujarat on October 30 and 31.
In Gujarat, more than 52.33 lakh farmer families are expected to receive financial assistance exceeding ₹1,051 crore. The minister shared these details after reviewing preparations for the PM Kisan Utsav Divas programme in Bhildi.
What Is the PM-Kisan Scheme?
Launched in February 2019, the PM-Kisan scheme provides financial support to eligible farmer families through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Under the programme, beneficiaries receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each. The money is transferred directly to their bank accounts.
Vaghani said that more than ₹4.47 lakh crore had been distributed nationwide through the previous 23 instalments. In Gujarat, the total amount provided to beneficiaries had exceeded ₹24,137 crore.
To mark the upcoming instalment, Gujarat will organise 34 district-level events and more than 2,100 cluster-level programmes. The main event will be broadcast live at these locations.
According to the report, farmers attending the designated programmes will also receive approval letters for various schemes operated by the state’s Agriculture and Horticulture departments.
Who Is Eligible for PM-Kisan Benefits?
The scheme covers eligible landholding farmer families whose names are recorded against cultivable land, subject to the government’s eligibility conditions.
However, several categories are excluded from receiving assistance. These include institutional landholders and farmer families with members who hold or have held constitutional positions, or have served as ministers, Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assemblies, mayors or district panchayat chairpersons.
Serving and retired government employees are generally excluded, subject to specified exceptions. Superannuated pensioners receiving a monthly pension of ₹10,000 or more are also ineligible, except where government rules provide otherwise.
Income tax payers and practising professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants and architects registered with their respective professional bodies are among the other excluded categories.
Farmers should check the official scheme guidelines to confirm whether their household meets the eligibility requirements.
PM-Kisan 24th Instalment: Documents and Checks Required
Farmers must complete the required verification procedures to receive their instalments without avoidable delays. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has made e-KYC mandatory for registered beneficiaries.
Farmers must also ensure that their active bank account is correctly linked with Aadhaar, as required under the scheme. Failure to complete e-KYC or Aadhaar seeding may prevent a beneficiary from receiving the ₹2,000 payment in the upcoming cycle.
The e-KYC process can be completed through several options:
- Online OTP verification: Use the official PM-Kisan portal to complete verification with a one-time password.
- PM-Kisan mobile app: Eligible users can complete e-KYC through the app’s facial-recognition facility.
- Common Service Centre (CSC): Farmers can visit their nearest centre for assistance with the process.
Beneficiaries facing problems with e-KYC, Aadhaar linking or payment status can contact the official PM-Kisan helpline numbers: 155261 (toll-free) or 011-24300606.
PM Modi to Attend National Unity Day Celebrations
Apart from the PM-Kisan programme in Banaskantha, Modi is scheduled to attend National Unity Day celebrations at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat’s Narmada district on October 31. The event will mark the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
