Petrol-Diesel Price Hike: Fuel prices have gone up again for customers at Nayara Energy petrol pumps across India. The private fuel retailer has increased the price of petrol by ₹5 per litre and diesel by ₹3 per litre.

The latest revision has been linked to higher international prices of crude oil and refined petroleum products. While Nayara Energy has raised its rates, other state-owned oil marketing companies have not announced a similar increase.

Nayara Energy operates 7,108 fuel stations across the country and also owns a refinery at Vadinar in Gujarat, which has an annual production capacity of around 20 million tonnes.

New Petrol and Diesel Prices Effective October 3

The revised petrol and diesel prices came into effect from the morning of Saturday, October 3, across all 7,108 Nayara Energy outlets in India.

The increase comes at a time when elevated global energy prices are putting renewed pressure on fuel retailers. For consumers, the higher rates could increase transportation and other day-to-day expenses linked to fuel use.

Nayara Energy Had Raised Prices Earlier Too

This is not the first time Nayara Energy has changed its fuel prices this year. On March 26, the company had increased petrol prices by ₹5 per litre and diesel prices by ₹3 per litre.

Following that hike, petrol at Nayara outlets reached ₹100.71 per litre, while diesel was priced at ₹91.31 per litre. The company later withdrew the March price increase.

On July 1, Nayara Energy reduced petrol prices by ₹5 per litre and diesel prices by ₹3 per litre after international crude oil prices eased as tensions in West Asia declined.

Fuel Prices Also Saw Several Earlier Hikes

State-owned oil marketing companies had also increased petrol and diesel prices on several occasions, taking the combined increase to around ₹7.50 per litre by the end of May.

During the fourth price increase on May 25, petrol became costlier by ₹2.61 per litre, while diesel prices rose by ₹2.71 per litre.

The latest Nayara Energy revision once again brings fuel prices into focus as global crude and refined product prices continue to influence domestic fuel rates.
