The OnePlus 16T is reportedly in development as the successor to the OnePlus 15T, which was introduced in China earlier this year. Although the company has not shared any official details about the upcoming smartphone, a new leak has revealed several of its expected specifications. The handset is tipped to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600M chipset, along with two 200-megapixel rear cameras. Reports also suggest that an upcoming compact smartphone from Oppo could be introduced as the OnePlus 16T in international markets.
OnePlus 16T Expected Specifications and Display
Oppo is preparing a new compact smartphone with a wide-slab design. The device is reportedly expected to launch in other markets under the OnePlus 16T name.
The upcoming smartphone is tipped to feature a 6.35-inch flat LTPO OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is also said to have either a 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio.
Under the hood, the OnePlus 16T could be powered by MediaTek’s 3nm Dimensity 9600M processor. The device is also expected to come with an IP69 rating, suggesting a focus on durability.
OnePlus 16T Camera Details and Battery
The camera system could be one of the major highlights of the rumoured OnePlus 16T. According to the leak, the smartphone may feature a dual rear camera setup with a 200-megapixel primary sensor supporting optical image stabilisation (OIS) and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.
If these details are accurate, the upcoming model would offer a notable camera upgrade over the OnePlus 15T, which features two 50-megapixel rear sensors.
The smartphone is also tipped to feature a metal frame and have a thickness of less than 9mm. It could run Android 17 out of the box and pack a battery with a capacity of around 7,000mAh or higher. Charging support is expected to include 80W wired fast charging.
For comparison, the OnePlus 15T comes with a larger 7,500mAh battery and supports 100W wired as well as 50W wireless fast charging.
