OnePlus 16 India Launch Plans: What the Latest Leak Reveals

OnePlus India executives recently organised a closed-door meeting in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to discuss the launch of the OnePlus 16.

This development indicates that the company may still be considering bringing its flagship smartphone to India, despite earlier reports suggesting otherwise.

A previous report claimed that OnePlus had decided not to introduce the OnePlus 16 in India as part of changes to its product strategy. Instead, the rumoured OnePlus 16R was expected to take the lead in the company’s Indian smartphone portfolio during 2026–2027.

However, OnePlus has not officially confirmed any changes to its product lineup or provided details about the availability of the OnePlus 16 in India.

OnePlus 16 Expected India Price Leaked

Apart from the launch update, the expected Indian pricing of the OnePlus 16 has also been reported. According to Smartprix, the upcoming flagship could be priced between Rs. 1,30,000 and Rs. 1,40,000 in India.

If these figures are accurate, the smartphone could be significantly more expensive than the previous-generation model.

For comparison, the OnePlus 15 is currently listed on the company’s Indian online store at Rs. 84,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The higher-end configuration with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at Rs. 93,999.

In China, the OnePlus 16 was launched on October 12, starting at CNY 5,999 (approximately Rs. 86,000) for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. This is considerably lower than the reported Indian price.

In the Chinese market, the OnePlus 16 is powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, which is based on a 2nm manufacturing process.

The smartphone features a 6.78-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,272 x 2,772 pixels. The screen supports a refresh rate of up to 185Hz, offering a high-refresh-rate viewing experience.

Another major highlight is its 9,000mAh battery. The handset supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

With the latest meeting report bringing renewed attention to its possible India debut, the OnePlus 16’s launch plans remain uncertain. The company is yet to officially announce its India launch date, pricing or availability.
