Motorola has introduced the Motorola Signature 27, the second-generation model in its premium Signature smartphone lineup. The device was unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit and comes with several major upgrades, including Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, advanced AI video tools, Google Gemini integration, and seven years of OS updates.
Motorola is positioning the Signature 27 as its most advanced smartphone yet. However, the company has not announced the phone’s pricing or released its complete specifications.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and ArcticMesh Cooling
The Motorola Signature 27 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, which sits above the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. Motorola says the processor is designed to improve on-device AI capabilities, image processing, gaming performance, and download speeds.
To manage the additional heat generated by the powerful chipset, Motorola has introduced its new ArcticMesh cooling system. The setup combines diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal, copper mesh, and a redesigned 3D vapour chamber.
According to Motorola, the new thermal system is around 40% larger than the cooling solution used in the previous generation. It is designed to improve heat dissipation during demanding activities such as AI processing, gaming, and video creation.
200MP Periscope Camera and AI Video Features
Camera performance is another major focus of the Motorola Signature 27. The smartphone features a 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 primary sensor paired with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera.
The high-resolution periscope sensor is expected to improve zoom photography, although Motorola has not yet provided complete details about its optical zoom capabilities. More information about the camera’s actual zoom performance is expected when the phone officially launches.
The Signature 27 also brings deeper AI integration through Google Gemini. Motorola says users will be able to create polished videos using simple prompts, photographs, or existing video footage.
The company is also bringing Gemini Omni and Lyria-powered tools to the device, allowing users to generate music and soundtracks. Motorola’s approach is aimed at making AI part of the camera and content-creation experience rather than limiting it to conventional chatbot functions.
Premium Design and New Colour Options
Motorola has given the Signature 27 a noticeably different design compared with its earlier smartphones. The rear panel features a large camera module containing four sensors and an LED flash, while the handset uses an aluminium silhouette with contoured edges.
The camera section incorporates materials such as ceramic and brushed aluminium, giving the phone a distinctive premium appearance. Motorola is also focusing on a slim and elegant overall design.
The Signature 27 will be available in Pantone Coal Smoke and Pantone Capulet Green. The Coal Smoke version features a woven texture intended to improve grip and durability, while the Capulet Green model uses a brushed finish inspired by textile materials.
With its new processor, upgraded camera hardware, AI-focused features and redesigned exterior, the Motorola Signature 27 represents a significant step forward for the company’s premium smartphone lineup. Pricing and the remaining specifications are yet to be announced.
