Actors Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are expected to appear on the upcoming season of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, to promote their much-anticipated film Ramayana.
The episode is scheduled to be shot on Saturday. The actors are expected to discuss the mythological drama, their experiences working on the ambitious project and various aspects of the film.
Their appearance comes as the makers prepare for the film’s worldwide release. The special episode is expected to offer viewers a closer look at the project and the actors’ experiences of bringing the epic story to the screen.
Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan’s Previous Association
The upcoming episode will also bring Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan together again after their collaboration in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, released in 2022. In the film, Ranbir played Shiva, while Bachchan portrayed Guru.
The two actors also share a connection through their respective families. Ranbir’s late father, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, worked with Amitabh Bachchan in several films over the years. Their collaborations included Yash Chopra’s Kabhi Kabhie (1976), Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), Naseeb (1981), Coolie (1983), Ajooba (1991) and 102 Not Out (2018).
Following Rishi Kapoor’s death on April 30, 2020, Bachchan expressed his grief on X. He wrote, “T 3517 – He’s GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed !”
Ranbir also shares a friendly relationship with Amitabh Bachchan’s son, actor Abhishek Bachchan, adding another connection between the two families.
Ramayana: Cast, Director and Release Date
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is being developed as a large-scale, two-part cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic. Ranbir Kapoor will portray Lord Rama, while Sai Pallavi will play Sita.
The film features Yash as Ravana, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The supporting cast includes Arun Govil as King Dasharatha, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi and Kunal Kapoor as Indra.
The first instalment of Ramayana is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026.
