ICICI Bank customers should review the upcoming changes to select savings account charges, which are scheduled to take effect on December 1, 2026. The revised fee structure covers cash deposits and withdrawals beyond the permitted limits, along with penalties for certain failed electronic debit transactions.

Customers who frequently conduct cash transactions at bank branches or cash recyclers, as well as those with regular automatic payments, should understand the updated charges to avoid unexpected deductions from their accounts.

ICICI Bank Cash Deposit and Withdrawal Charges

Under the revised tariff, the charge for cash deposits and withdrawals at branches and cash recyclers for applicable savings accounts will increase from ₹3.50 to ₹4 per ₹1,000 once the relevant monthly limits are exceeded.

Customers will continue to receive three free cash transactions each month under the terms described in the revised structure. Transactions beyond this free limit may attract an additional charge of ₹150 per transaction.

However, value-based charges will not apply to monthly cash transactions up to ₹1 lakh. Once the monthly value exceeds ₹1 lakh, the applicable fee will be ₹4 per ₹1,000 or ₹150, depending on the relevant charging rule.

Customers should check the specific terms applicable to their savings account to understand when additional fees may be imposed.

When Will Customers Have to Pay Extra Fees?

The revised charges are relevant when customers exceed the applicable limits on cash transaction frequency or value. Those who remain within the permitted free limits will not incur additional charges under these provisions.

Before making frequent deposits or withdrawals, customers should review their monthly transaction totals and the tariff applicable to their account. This can help them understand whether an additional transaction fee is likely to apply.

ICICI Bank Revises ECS and NACH Debit Return Penalties

ICICI Bank is also changing the penalties for certain failed Electronic Clearing Service (ECS) and National Automated Clearing House (NACH) debit transactions.

From December 1, 2026, a charge of ₹500 will apply to the first eligible debit return. The penalty for the second and third returns will be ₹550 each.

These charges apply when an electronic debit fails for financial reasons, such as insufficient funds in the account. They may affect customers whose savings accounts are used for recurring payments, including loan EMIs and other automatic deductions.

Maintaining a sufficient account balance before scheduled payments is one way customers can reduce the risk of financially related debit returns and the associated penalties.

What Should ICICI Bank Customers Do?

Customers should review the revised savings account tariff before the new charges take effect. Those who regularly deposit or withdraw cash should monitor their monthly transaction frequency and total value, while customers with automatic payments should ensure sufficient funds are available on the due dates.

Checking the applicable account terms through ICICI Bank’s official channels can help customers understand the exact charges relevant to their accounts.
