Hyundai is preparing several new products for the Indian market, including the Bayon, a new compact electric SUV and the next-generation Creta. The upcoming models will bring new designs, updated technology and additional features to Hyundai’s SUV lineup.
The Bayon is expected to arrive in India during the festive season, while the new compact EV is planned for launch by the end of 2026. The next-generation Creta is expected to follow in 2027. Hyundai has already opened bookings for the Bayon, with the SUV positioned between the Venue and Creta in the company’s lineup.
Hyundai Bayon: Petrol and CNG Options
Hyundai has announced the Bayon for India, and bookings are currently open through the company’s website and authorised dealerships. The SUV is scheduled for its global reveal at the 2026 Paris Motor Show on October 12, 2026.
The India-spec Bayon is expected to use a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing around 113–114 bhp and 144 Nm of torque. Transmission options are expected to include a 6-speed manual and CVT automatic.
A CNG version is also expected, with reports indicating the possibility of an underbody CNG tank. However, the CNG configuration has not been officially confirmed. Hyundai has confirmed an in-built generative AI voice assistant as one of the Bayon’s technology highlights.
Hyundai’s New Compact Electric SUV
Hyundai is also preparing a new sub-4-metre electric SUV, reportedly carrying the internal codename HE1i. The model is expected to arrive by the end of 2026 and will enter the compact electric SUV space alongside models such as the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV 3XO EV and Kia Syros EV.
Reports suggest that the EV could be offered in standard-range and long-range versions. Battery details for the upcoming model have not been officially confirmed, although reports have pointed to battery capacities around 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. A next-generation infotainment system, potentially based on Hyundai’s Pleos Connect platform, is also expected.

Next-Generation Hyundai Creta in 2027
The third-generation Hyundai Creta is expected to arrive in India in 2027. The SUV is being developed on Hyundai-Kia’s K3 platform, which is also used for the latest Kia Seltos. The new Creta has already been spotted testing and is expected to receive a substantially updated exterior and interior.
Inside, the upcoming Creta is expected to feature a redesigned dashboard with a large display and Hyundai’s Pleos Connect infotainment system. Features such as a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, Bose mode functionality and dual-zone climate control are also expected.
The powertrain lineup is expected to continue with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. A new hybrid powertrain is also expected to join the range.
