Hanuman Ansh Oscar submission: Hanuman Ansh has become an unexpected theatrical success, with the film continuing to attract audiences weeks after its release. However, despite its growing popularity, the film will not be in the race to become India’s official entry for the Oscars this year.
Producer Namrata Singh has now explained why the makers failed to submit the film for consideration in the Best International Feature Film category. Meanwhile, producer Ragini Sona has addressed reports claiming that the film has already landed a massive Rs 100-crore OTT deal.
Why Was Hanuman Ansh Not Submitted for the Oscars?
According to Namrata Singh, the makers were not aware of the submission deadline for films seeking consideration as India’s official Oscar entry.
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Singh revealed that the team missed the deadline on September 7. She explained that the production team is relatively small and has been occupied with several other aspects of the film’s release and expansion.
The producer also said that the film has so far been dubbed in Telugu, while work is underway to make it accessible to audiences in additional languages.
Singh indicated that the team’s current focus is on taking Hanuman Ansh to a wider audience rather than concentrating solely on awards. Along with completing dubbing in different languages, the makers are also working on accessibility measures so that people with different abilities can experience the film.
The producer acknowledged that several people contacted the team after the deadline to ask why the film had not been submitted. However, by then, the submission window had already closed.
Makers Deny Rs 100 Crore OTT Deal Reports
At the same time, social media and media reports have been circulating about Hanuman Ansh allegedly receiving a Rs 100 crore OTT offer.
Producer Ragini Sona has, however, categorically denied the claim.
Speaking to NDTV, Sona described the reports as rumours and said that the makers are currently more interested in the film’s theatrical performance and audience response than in discussing potential OTT offers.
According to Sona, the strong word-of-mouth response from viewers has been one of the biggest reasons behind the film’s continued theatrical run. She credited the audience’s love for the film and referred to the spiritual influence associated with Neem Karoli Baba.
No OTT Deal Has Been Finalised Yet
Ragini Sona further clarified that the makers have not finalised an OTT agreement for Hanuman Ansh at this point.
She said any decision regarding the film’s digital release will be taken collectively by the team when the appropriate time arrives. For now, the producers want audiences to continue experiencing the film in theatres.
Sona also stressed that box office figures and potential offers are not the only things that matter to the team. The makers are currently focused on the audience’s response and the growing popularity of the film.
She added that even the team does not know exactly when Hanuman Ansh will arrive on an OTT platform.
What’s Next for Hanuman Ansh?
While the film has missed the Oscar submission window and reports of a Rs 100-crore digital deal have been rejected by the makers, Hanuman Ansh continues to benefit from strong audience interest.
The producers are now concentrating on expanding the film’s reach through additional language versions and improved accessibility. As for its OTT release, the makers have made it clear that no deal has been finalised so far.
For now, the team’s message to viewers is straightforward: the film’s journey is still unfolding in theatres, driven largely by audience support and word of mouth.
