Gold Price Weekly Update: Gold Rises ₹1,789 in a Week, Silver Gains ₹7,988

Gold prices remained highly volatile throughout the week, moving sharply between gains and declines. The latest movement has kept the precious metal in focus, particularly as demand for gold jewellery remains strong ahead of the festive season.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the futures price of 24-carat gold closed at ₹154,263 per 10 grams at 23:30 on September 18, recording a gain of 0.84%. The previous closing price was ₹152,981 per 10 grams.

According to bullion market data, 24-carat gold touched ₹154,590 per 10 grams, while international gold prices reached $4,418.10 per ounce.

Gold Price Rises ₹1,789 in One Week

Data from ibjarates.com showed that 24-carat, 999-purity gold stood at ₹153,727 per 10 grams at the close of the market. Since bullion markets remain closed over the weekend, this rate applies to both Saturday and Sunday.

A week earlier, on September 11, the price of 999-purity gold was ₹151,938 per 10 grams.

This means gold has become costlier by ₹1,789 per 10 grams in just one week. With the festive season approaching, the rise in gold prices is likely to remain an important factor for buyers tracking jewellery and bullion rates.

Silver Price Jumps ₹7,988 in a Week

Silver also recorded a significant increase during the week.

According to ibjarates.com, the price of 999-purity silver stood at ₹236,908 per kilogram at the latest market close. On September 11, silver was priced at ₹228,920 per kilogram.

As a result, silver prices increased by ₹7,988 per kilogram over the week.
